The 2 switches in this room should have a loop wire between them to carry the main live over then 2 returning switch-wires - one going to each light fitting. The neutral will be at the light fitting already - the live drops down to the switch then returns to the light fitting completing the circuit. To test them you can put all power off and use a pp3 battery and a 9v bell....? the bell is wired to any pair and the battery put to the other end - a circuit being made will make it ring. Does this help? Its how we identify wires in old houses but hard to explain clearly and takes 2 people to do. The outgoing wires in the diagram go to the next room etc. Cheers )

Hi mate, Here is a diagram of what the wires are for. I drew it in mspaint so forgive the raw pic lol, I've been a spark for 20 odd years but im no artist! I also left out the earth (green/yellow) for clarity. You need to establish which wires do which jobs in the pic and join them. Note the black used as a returning switch-live or switchwire. This is the common loop-in system as used since 1970 The 'box' with the terminals is the ceiling rose (round plastic bit) - drawn square for clarity. cheers!

You need a press to fit them mate and certain years have non removable bearings so you would change the hub. It's probably a garage job - in Fife go to Falkland Performance in Glenrothes (they have a web site) - I got my rear one done for £55 and the bearing was £32 from D&A Motor Factors Glenrothes (across from F.P. in fact) Excellent job they did too. Got the car back inside 2 hours.

Hmmm - the fans could be on for rolling road purposes. Handy! Actually I suppose because they turn on test mode.

I'm not sure mate but depending on whether the remap is stored as the default or not I guess a reset will put most stuff back to factory standard. If the car has been reprogrammed then no it wont but if its just a shift of the default values then probly. Footnote: a search of the wondernet says that the ecu will default to map values as it adjusts any map due to driving conditions, fuel quality, barometric pressure etc. Anyone else know better?

Yeah I like the idea of using factory fitted connectors to do the job in 5 mins - that makes it easy to do any time. If Subaru put the plugs there to do the job thats good enough for me lol Heres a GREAT idea....(since i'm a spark): Fit a switch somewhere and wire it to connect these two sets of plugs - you could even use plugs from a scrapper (both greens and blacks) then plumb them into the existing ones and reset the ECU anytime you like.....

A 2.0 Sport will do 30 ish MPG where the JDM 1.8 Sport I have can do 45 ish. I get 450 miles from a full tank (£50) And that is absolute gospel - no driving like a nutter mind or it will suffer but changing up at 3 to 4k will do ok. Take it to 6k and you can watch the gauge go down lol
