I'm running 550's on mine also uprated maf and of course the ebligitory Andy F remap.
N reg STi, standard internals and box and no probs so far but sure it's stronger than a uk but if u don't hash the tits off it don't see why it wont last a month or 2 at least !

Good idea mate.
Excellent idea, gives us mere mortals a target to aim for !

lol ive rebuilt a Mk 4 Escort estate, then the redtop corsa i've got at the moment and everytime i said never again yet here i am hahaha. I thought it looked like a load of work when i first seen it but the more bits i gather the less of a job it seems to be (just read that back doh sounds like an obvious statement lol), nah the only thing that i'm weary about at the moment is the engine, everything else is just an easy bolt up job.
The engine i was told has head gasket failure so i may as well strip the full lot while it's out and check it. my plan is just to hone the bores and fit the ACL race bearings and some decent rings. Altho i've rebuilt the CVH head and ported and polished it for my old Escort estate, i've never done a bottom end rebuild yet so i'm a bit weary lol, but seen as i'm not the type of guy that gives in and hate to pay someone else to do a job which i dont see i shouldn't be able to do myself armed with the proper knowlege (and help lol) it will be done. I have a friend who's done a few so he's pretty clued up and i will be rebuilding it at his garage so hopefully he'll be there beside me to help me out and point me in the right direction if i get stuck.
What do you guys recon the cars worth as it's sitting at the moment?
Saw a nice clean tidy complete wagon needing head gasket for £600 a couple of weeks back !

Sport bonnet is the way forward.
I have one as well as a despoilered boot and it looks the mutts nuts IMHO
Although some may not agree but its good 2 be different.

Got it thursday for my 360 and absolutely luv it !
How'd you get the 6R4 and MK 2 though ? as i'm not that great at games in general but seem to win plenty and unlock loads but have never seen mention of them.

Can someone please clear something up for me.
The little spring that connects to the gearstick linkage that helps centralise the gearstick. should the little hole for connecting the spring on the universal joint be facing up into the car or down toward the ground.
Reason is i have had a loads of problems with a gearbox i had fitted about 5 weeks ago making serious grinding noises and the gearstick being bloody loose and flopping about. took it back and guy told me it must be first gear on the box that is goosed. got a spring yesterday and put the car up in the air and i can see where one side of the spring connects to but on the universal joint the little eyelet is on the top of the universal joint looking up from under the car and looks bloody impossible to connect up the spring without bending it round the universal joint.
Cheers
Don't know off the top of my head but if your passing stow tomorrow you could have a look at mine as i work @ milburn garage.

i'm on it and prefer to use it to keep in touch with people i like.
I dont feel bad for declining invitations... just because I know you doesnt mean I want to be connected to you.
and agree with the statement that about people posting their whole life on it, its not neccessary and i dont really need to know about the mundane things thats going on in your world.
but must admit, curiosity got the better of me about the farmville thing and joined in last night
OH NO your life is over my other half ended up harvesting and planting every night and wud even have her friends phoning to do theirs if they couldn't
-
I'm on stephen melrose but haven't been on much lately as everyone seems obssesed with farm stuff or mafia wars ! Good way to see some faces from the past but some peeps seem to post their whole lives up online !

Are they Andy F's prices?
Yeh, I think I would prefer a good mileage 2nd hand one than any new ebay ones, then you know they arent made of chocolate!
I've read plenty threads saying to avoid the ebay japanese ones and i run an andy f one which i have on a classic and its pretty good

wilwood, brakes and UK in google brings up this mob
http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/index.php
Now that wasn't too hard!
Hope you get it sorted
Alyn at APS got me ferrodo ds2500's for my wilwood 6 pots but did involve me faxing a drawing of the pad and he had to order them in so took a few days.

Now THAT sounds like a fun day out

I'm thinking i should really have one and wondering are the cheap nasty looking ones on fleabay exactley that so is it worth shelling out for a decent one ?
Any recomendations ?

MK1 Fiesta 1.1 resprayed black, XR3 seats, spotlights and 12" wheels.
There's been about another 30+ different motors between then and now and i wish i'd kept loads o them from mantas to M3 evo's
-
Like the clean stealthy shape Stevie boy but needs paint all one colour IMHO. I'm too old school as you knowl
Get it GLEAMING whiteor Black
Well i'm still quite undecided as there's so many options, was even thinking matt black bonnet roof and boot but reckon it'd be a night mare 2 keep so maybe all white would be best but then there's more 2 polish
Who knows but ones things for sure, it's gonna be different

Have to agree with Neil, newage is a great everyday/motorway car but for for sheer thrill and driving experience a classic is the way.
Agreed after having the classic on track for the first time its definatley much more raw and a "drivers" car compared to the newage but it was nice to be able to go places in comfort and tbh i'm as happy driving about in my diesel focus estate everyday.
If your buying a toy get a classic somebodys already spent a load on and drive it til the wheels come off

Craig I think you will find that john will be running the SIDC track days at virtually break even
A great afternoon and both gf and daughter loved going out in the car but i think all those fast cars may have created a little girl racer in the making.
Would be great if SIDC could do days for £50 including a burger but think we just have 2 be thankful we made the most of a good oppertunity
Cheers to all @ autoecosse.

Anyone know what was in the saxo that was on in the afternoon as the grey M3 csl couldnae get past !!!
Looked a bit ropey and had old school RS 4 spokes on it but went like feck

Just home from the afternoon session which was excellent, good selection of cars and managed to have my fun before the heavens opened.
Roll on all the pics.

Im gonna pop round tomorrow and have a look (i heard that the 4 bolts do fit but they are weaker boxes). I started off with a t reg wagon as well with Prodrive ECU, Back box etc then got my BMW but i missed the Scooby that much i had to get another. That looked a quick scooby you have there! You notice a big difference with the front mount?
Im looking for a newer STI next year so im just keeping the wagon ticking over until then, its a nice motor and the leather interior is pretty good too
Funny that i went to a newage sti then an M3 evolution but back to a classic as the beemer just wasn't all that although a great car.
Fmic helps but i think its the andy forrest 20g that gives it the extra big kick along with a map from himself of course, wasn't going mad on the twistys as i'd just fitted new pads and want to bed em in a bit before the morn @ knockhill.
If you no planning major mods i wudnae worry about the box mines is still standard STi with 380 bhp running through it !
-
I thought it looked good, the chap is going to add more black Dc stickers to the door.
I was trying to copy the Ken Block car as best i could at a good price, to get the car the same
its going to cost a fortune, i was keeping it at a budget so it would still be a bit different.
Cheers for the comments!
I like em plain and simple, hows about taking the spoiler off and painting the bonnet matt black
Luv to see how it compares to mine ?
