That last ones a joke, surely his mates have built him that Spiylur. I hope.
-
Stunning. Brings a tear to the eye a 7 year old car looking as perfect as that. Long live the classics. Thats exactly whats missing from mine, one of they front splitters. Jof

Buyin bits already Dan. Whats the plans, Type R? Theres loads o Scoobys for sale the now...

Checked out brakes today as for some reason they were squeeling all the time. Turns out one of the pads were jammed onto the disk and have worn themselves down to about 1mm of life left. Other side was fine with bags of miles left in them. Is this a weak piston? Would a refurb sort this out? Would anyone have an idea who would do this and where abouts you go to have it done? Ayrshire area Cheers in advance Jof

Just informed Mckelvie of the plate error, ta. Fully resprayed it was, Ive just noticed how much deeper the colour is now from the pics. Thanks for the comments again, ye dont see many mica red ones about I was thinking it was an aquired taste. Clearly not Jof -
before (gold wheels) after (charcoal wheels) which is nicest ?
M8JOF1 replied to mckelvr's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Cheers for the comments lads. Im afraid for the Gold lovers out there ive just had the wheels done Anthracite Grey they were not in good condition so had to be changed. Same wheels, 18s (powdercoated) though they look bigger now because the car was also dropped 40mm on Eibachs recently. The Scoob should be in good enough condition to attend most shows etc this year now, since ive been hiding it a bit. JOF -
Didnt see that coming at all, send in the backup ha ha ha.

If you went down to the woods today!!!!!!

Good Pics! That 5th pic down from the top is weird, looks like its coming towards ye. Makes ye dizzy that does, and thats me off the drugs, cos they dont work. 22b what can a say!!! -
That superb figures mate, really superb. Do you think the headers have helped the excellent torque figures? So thats just a complete exhaust system and a good map thats got you there or is there anything else G?
-
Impreza Ciaran every time, I fully agree with your well made points. I recently endured a rolling road day with loads of type Rs yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawnnnnnn got sick of seeing the same figures 197bhp and 140ib/ft torque on standard and mildly modded ones. One main difference is that they can put a bit of power down that 4WD takes away from a scoob.Type R 14k, Supercharger 4k,Nos 1k outcome 250bhp what a friggin waste of money. Carry on.

Thats great big man, Im sittin here lookin oot the winda aw excited waiting on a Blue RA arrivin to take me a spin. He promised tae come over tae show me what a real Scooby can doo but hes no boathered his erse. Aaah well. You better have got ma strut mount boat Haggis......
-
Get the 18s bought, they dont rub theres bags of room even when your Scoobs lowered 45mm.
-
Hadnt seen that one mate but was very amused by the Bentley contribution. That STIs lovely.

You see thats why I come on this forum, there is guaranteed to be another hulk around who has gone a bit too far and heard the dreaded snap of overtightening. Thanks alot mate I will try that. Thats handy.
-
Fitting my new front strut brace today when I got alittle carried away while tightening one of the bolts up,sheared the bleedin thing off didnt I. Anyone happen to have a front passenger side shocker/strut for a classic uk turbo as its a full suspension out mistake. Such a clown acting like the hulk. Thanks.

Good point well made, you are right they dont do ecutek it is the piggyback method. Is this still ok, decent results?
-
Its funny you should say that mate. See me make a fool of myself in previous posts re ecus and mapping.
-
Aye you may have a point Dan. Anywho after much investigating it seems because the standard ecu in the MY00 needs either a Subaru dealer or the ecutek software to map it(which can only be obtained from an authorised dealer) my idea has been hit oan the heed cos it involves stealin it from somebudy. Goin through to Dastek on the 29th of the month for a rollin road day and the initial stage of the map(hopefully). End of that story.

I know I know, whats the worst that can happen? Car blaws up lesson learned Ill just buy a push bike.Hmmmm......
-
Well it just so happens that there is another man about town who maps ecus extremelly well for all jap cars he runs a GT4 and the GT4 website almost . Ill be his first scoob to go under the knife but the guys so clued up on everything motor Im putting all my faith in him. This should be interesting cos if hes good it sounds like SIDC may be putting work his way. 500 hundred nicker is alot of cash for a remap Im sure all would agree but AF is the man no denying that.

Just last week I got the full works done on the car. S/S manifolds/headers fitted plus uppipe, Snakehead downpipe and 3 inch pipework to the back plus a nice straight slashcut backbox.Looks and sounds the faaaackin business (not too loud) I could not be any happier. A new lease of life has been given to the scoob the sound from the headers at 3500 revs would bring a tear to a glass eye. ELITE are superb they worked on it from 9.30am to 8.30pm and when you look underneath the car you know why, the welds are PERFECT. Highly Highly recommend them.
