I am afraid that Gina and I will not be going to IOM this year since I have decided today to sell the Scoob and hopefully buy a Boxster 3.2S. I have been thinking of changing the Scoob for sometime since I am not able to really enjoy it on the roads down here in Oxfordshire due to traffic, slow drivers and speed limits. To really enjoy a Scoob you need to be travelling at licence losing speeds. Therefore I have decided to get a car which is enjoyable to drive at slower speeds - a Boxster 3.2S. It will also be cheaper to insure, use less petrol and depreciate less.
I will certainly miss the Scooby community and our annual trip to the IOM. However, there is a thriving Porsche enthusiast community that arrange driving holidays and meets.
Anyone want to buy a well looked after 2002 Imprexa STi Type UK with 34,000 miles and £5700 worth of mods?
Cheers
Alan
Well, where do I start? This was the best our best visit to Scooby island so far (we have been on all 3 SIDC trips). Wrapping the visit around the International Rally was inspired and made for the magic ingredient that made this trip stand out.
So much work must have gone into the organisation which was borne out by the success of Manx ScoobyFest 04. Thanks must go once again to Richard, Margi and family and the entire Manx SIDC committee and all who played their part.
We have made more new friends this year and look forward to meeting all who came to Scooby Island again next year.

<< Have you booked the Adelphi Lemmy? >>
Yes, for ~£49 B&B + £10 for secure car parking, which I reckon is an exellent price for such a hotel (normally double rooms are ~£100).
Thanks for the advice on the Adelphi. I had found a couple of others at similar prices, Capanile and Dolby, but they didn't offer secure parking.

<<
On a brighter note, have you got a p1 now Alan >>
I think you have got me confused with someone else. Why would I want a P1 when I still have an 02STi which is better in every way: looks, performance, handling, brakes, build quality

Hotel booked
Scoob goes in for an interim oil change tomorrow and for a few minor faults to be checked.
Greg - How is the arm and the car coming on. Are both likely to be fit for IOM?
Alan
Is anyone planning on travelling to Liverpool on the night before the ferry crossing like us. If so where are you planning on staying? I have found a couple of relatively cheap hotels (£40-50 per room) about a mile from the ferry terminal, so there is no rush or early rise to make the ferry in the morning.

Richard, is there is to be some more general advertising to attract more people?
