Hi guys,
Sorry, don't mean to be a downer here, but the driving standard was not all good.
I was one of the TVR drivers you passed going up to Blairgowrie, and again past Bridge of Cally.
I have no problem with the speeds on the road, and no problem with most of the overtaking, but three
of the overtakes past me (quite apart from anyone else) were into blind corners, or blind crests.
1. Just after the Meikleour hedge, overtake on a restricted view left hander, on double whites in the middle of the road.
2. Past Bridge of Cally, one Scooby past me, another TVR, caravan, and back in a little before a blind bend. Fine.
Second Scooby followed through, and back onto left side of road at the bend. No margin.
3. Worst of the lot. Scooby out from behind one TVR, past it, past me, fine, I lifted to leave a gap before the caravan
I was behind. Scooby ignored gap and overtook the caravan over a blind crest. Zero visibility.
And some of the other guys had a few similar observations.
Go for a hoon by all means, but leave out the suicidal antics - I'd rather the police didn't have the excuse to start taking even more interest in performance car outings.
Glad you enjoyed the day out though - we only did the 350 miles.
(This is not meant to start a flame war, just an observation by a 'keen' road driver - so you can imagine the views of any grannies you were passing).
Neil
