  1. You'll have a long wait Frankyboy, but keep going with your wooden spoon. I'm apologising for nothing. Some of you seem to think it's perfectly acceptable to come on here spouting bullshit at those who give up their free time for this Club then squeal for their Mummies when somebody dares to retaliate.

Fact is, I'm not on the Committee. I don't attend their online meetings and I don't vote on Club matters so I don't have to play nice like the other boys. I'm no different to you except I've saved the Club £1560 this year and implemented a vastly improved online shop. What's your contribution been (apart from your highly intelligent and lucid contributions to this topic of course)? :rotfl:

Wooden spoon... behave! Your previous post was a great contribution right enough.

My contribution.. i've been a paid up member ,given to various charities through the forum, got parts from my work for members, help fix members cars, gave technical advice (sometimes limited of course), helped pick up members cars with a trailer when they've been stuck, been to meets/trackdays... need i go on?

And yes that means i've also given up my spare time on numberous occasions. It's not just the admin or whoever help run the forum that can put their name to that old chesnut ;)

So who's spouting bullshit now about giving up their free time for this club and who's squealing now ? That would be you Andyboy ;)

Try practicing what you preach :)

  2. Said Committee member should've kept their mouth shut the because it's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. I would go as far as saying that if I find who it was chatting such shit I'll be having words at the AGM.

That said, what the **** are you all whining about - you've been told time and time again, support the club or lose it. As a result, the f/s and wanted areas were restricted in order to encourage more member sign ups and renewals - it's working AND WILL NOT BE CHANGING. it's for the good of the club and I can't see, going by your comments, how any one of you can take issue with that.

Every single one of you were given the opportunity to contribute to the running of the club and it's future direction and the vast majority couldn't be arsed - how is that our ****ing fault?!? You were all also given opportunity to vote in the survey, very few bothered with that either.

THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEY WERE PUBLISHED IN TRUE GRIP IN THEIR ENTIRITY.

It's attitudes like this that make me wonder why the **** I bother. I'm away for a week now so feel free to bitch and moan all you like.

Just try and remember, there's a LOT happening within the club over the coming year - all for YOUR benefit. Because it hasn't been announced yet, doesn't mean it's not happening.

**Is this thread really benefiting the club?**

That would be a definite NO Robert.

Andy's wee reply wasn't very beneficial either sadly.

  3. Frank, that is an area that has been discussed and probably will be high on the agenda in the Committee Forum or at our next weekly online meeting.

It was muted at £1 per item (I think thats the rate we discussed!?)in a FS/wanted section for people to advertise their wears if they were non members.

Would that be of interest do you think?

I was thinking more of a flat fee Gus if indeed that's the way it has to be. I personally wouldn't pay it but it's not for me to say as a registerd user non member i guess.

I still don't see why the change was needed in the first place. It's a step too far in my book. All it's done is alienate more folk and as Craig mentioned *left a sour taste in the mouth*. If i had the choice i'd put it back to how it was and admit it was a bad idea. I think the members get a good enough deal tbh.

And to pick up on another thing mentioned. What action will be taken regarding the foul/abusive language from the powers to be? Or is it now just a free for all.

The decision made here will go a long way to help draw a line under the problem.

    It can't be tolerated.

  4. Yup, on scoobynet you either have to be a full member or have 'for sale' membership. Either way you have to pay to sell stuff......

I'm not so sure Davey. I posted something for sale on .net a couple of days ago and i haven't paid any dues as of yet. Also just been on s/net and it's letting me post a for sale thread, again don't pay any fees. Weird.

Perhaps paying a small fee to allow non members on here to use the for sale section could be an idea ?

  5. Totally agree about the shows etc Gus with members feeling they get treated the same as non members but that's an easy fix mate.. wouldn't you say? And along with the other benefits they get i think they do quite well for £20 quid a year.

    What's to grumble about.

I think the f/sale and wanted scenario is ,well to be perfectly honest,a nonsense and an ill thought decision.

I can see you guys thought it was probably worth a try given a handful of members requested it (i'm sure members have also posted it's a bad idea aswell though) so, is it a trial run and if it goes :boobies: up will it be reinstated? or is it policy for the powers not to go back on what is thought of as a bad decision ?

And yes £20 is worthwhile but not everyone seems to agree on how things are dealt with etc and choose not to pay..sadly.

Some of the responses and PR from the powers to be on this thread proves that. Not really an ideal marketing strategy is it ?

Bobby, i don't take it as being negative all the time bud. Most of it is constructive critisism or merly asking for certain things to be explained in full. After all, were always asked to voice opinions or ask questions if the need arises ;)

  6. It's all there in the Oct TG - a full report from the club questionnaire and that was the single biggest gripe members had - not enough value to being a member.

Like it or not, we can only go by the majority.

Can't have been too many gripes though considering previous posts stating hardly anyway responded to the questionaire. Hows that a majority bud?

Let's hope the members have a lot of things to buy and sell then to make it a worthwhile exercise. Heres hoping!

  7. A number of members had been complaining (and rightly so) that they were paying for membership and were getting little more that none paying members (whether they were established users or not!) so it was decided to give fee paying members back some of their paid for benefits. Specifically, advertising in the For Sale and Wanted Section was one area that was seen as being a member benefit.

    Gus

    Hi Gus,

    Thanks for the reply.

A number of members complaing that they get little more than non members (and rightly so!?!?). Was this through meets rather than through the forums? And what else did they expect for their £20 that they don't get already?

I thought members got discount on certain parts, True Grip, members only section, cheaper track days(?), discounted insurance etc... now they want the for sale section to themselves. A tad harsh , no?

I'll need a little more convincing on that one bud.

What other plans are forecast for the near future to encourage non members or *established users* to pay the membership fee?

  8. Who is actually coming up with these wonderful ideas....

And more to the point , who is agreeing with it?

I remember a while back (just before xmas?) we were all asked to put forward our ideas/concerns to help take the club forward etc but i haven't heard a peep since on what was decided.

    Where's the feedback .............

Hows about starting with where the money is spent.. all be it the severe lack of it esp since the outlook isn't looking very promising.

  9. if there isnt a massive increase in memberships then there will be no club within a couple of months

    Nice post and very welcome.

Sounds worrying though, to say the least!

Good to read a *straight to the point* reply for a change. It's been a long time coming and well appreciated.

    Let's hope there's more to come ;)
