  1. Depends if they have the equipment to measure it! If they have the equipment, then they have to measure it, otherwise it's discretionary! There is quite a strict legal limit and the standard exhaust isn't far off it, so pretty much any non standard exhaust will fail. Can't remember the exact details of the test for measuring noise, but its something like taking a reading at 1m from the exhaust at a 45 degree angle. I think the reading is also taken at a certain RPM.
  2. You could tell her to stop pressing the horn
  3. Congratulation on the car and welcome to the club Hope you get sorted job-wise ASAP!
  4. Lol, saw that and was wondering if it was anyone on here! Was in South Wales IIRC! They were apparently nicking them to fill in sunroof holes for banger racing!
  5. I've driven a few LPG cars as courtesy cars from my dealer. To be honest you can't tell the difference between running on Petrol or LPG, the systems really are very good. Plus you can still run on Petrol, so you can fill both tanks for extended range! However I'm not sure how reliable the systems are with high power engines. I know my dealer won't fit the system to STI's, although it seems to be ok for the WRX and Forrester turbos. I don't know the technical reasoning behind it, but I'm sure there must be something. I know LPG is effectively a higher octane rating than petrol (>100), so the problem can't be with knock. My guess would be more to do with under fuelling issues if the LPG can't be supplied to the engine quick enough!
  6. I noticed it this morning! Good first effort mate, shame the logo is a bit big
  7. First up, sorry for the lack of PM, I was interrupted by work before I had chance to contact you, this is the fist chance I've had to write anything to explain, so apologies for my real life interrupting! As Stu pointed out above, selling on behalf of third parties is not permitted! Its written clearly in the forum regulations as Stu mentioned above: This rule replies to everyone, regardless of how long you've been a member and would also be enforced on moderators and admin alike. The for sale rules were introduced on request of the forum as a whole in an attempt to combat problem sellers and so far are working very well. I'm sure you can understand why the rules are there and that the moderator team cannot start making exceptions here and there; where exactly should we draw the line? The simple answer is there is no line to be drawn, we enforce the rules and make no exceptions! Alastair.
  8. Hmmm, think I might move to Caracus
  9. 1. DO NOT SELL THAT CAR! You put way too much work into it, you'll only regret it 2. 2.5 is a very nice and torquey engine, but as its just a bored out 2.0 block, you'll never get the power figures you had before with any decent level of reliability! 3. Probably the most cost effective upgrade that you'll be genuinely happy with. 4. You know you want to
  10. Depends where you emigrate too Fuel is even more expensive in Germany these days, particularly with the current value of Sterling!
  11. As far as I know, the saloon is only manufactured at the US plant and in LHD. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high of it reaching the UK!
  12. lol, not seen that one, but have seen him elsewhere
  13. I've had a hatchback STI for over two years now and absolutely love it, by far the best Impreza I've owned (also had a 98 classic, RB5 and 03 STI), but each to their own! It has its faults, but so does every other Impreza.
  14. As far as I know, there are no differences between 2008 and 2009 WRX or STI models, or 2010 for that matter!
  15. I didn't know a 1995 car couldn't be remapped without a garden wall Well done BigD
