It hasn't been for the last 2 years, so cant see spectators being allowed in this year either... Easy way to get around it though, just volunteer your services as a marshal. You get closer to the action than any spectator, and usually have the chance to win a ride in a front running car in the marshals raffle...

Gus - Ingliston is on April 22nd, should be good as the Mini is getting a funky new engine built, a new floor fitted and the gearing raised as we speak, so it should be competitive with some of the 1400 class cars. Pic below is from the NE25 Rally, we came 2nd in class and 4th o/a, clouted a tattie box on the way (see dent in co-drivers door!).

GustheBus - Small world, I co-drive for Adrian Stewart in that Mini (Not me pictured though)! Great wee car, will be doing Ingliston at the end of April in it, will be good to see how it compares with some newer cars... Favourite Rally car? Cant beat the sound of a Mk1 Escort RS1600....

55CC Autocross near Inchture on the 13th Aug
creationracing replied to zeolite's topic in Scottish Scoobies
How did this go guys, anyone got any pics/stories? -
Yeah, have had a fair amount of feedback from a few people saying they'd be happy to come back for another event, just not to that field... Guess we may have to look for a venue with a harder wearing clay surface, but I'm reluctant to abandon Coneyhatch totally as it's free, most of the residents at the farm compete and youre right next to a good source of tools and spares if something goes wrong! Im not exactly a soil-ologist but I'm guessing there's not much that can be done about the surface of that field, pity as it was a brilliant track, will probably get it levelled off and compacted so we can get another go on it sometime, hopefully with a bit more moisture it'll be a bit more car-friendly! Some nasty damage you got there Ian, hope it's all fixed soon. Got a wee dent in the front of my Fiesta from doing a "burning Messerschmit" nose-dive off one of the jumps, other than that it's in one piece! Nobody get any pics of me, blue and white Mk2 Fiesta?

Thanks to the SIDC Marshalling Posse!!!!
creationracing replied to creationracing's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Just wondering how long it will be until a couple of SIDC members club together and buy a cheap Legacy or early Impreza (or even a 4WD Justy!) and have a crack themselves... Team SIDC perhaps...? Would be good to see! -
Hi guys, Just want to extend a big massive huge thanks to all the SIDC members who turned up at our Autocross today and donned the yellow marshalling bibs. The event was praised by everyone and without you guys, it would either not have been run or run in a much curtailed format. Hopefully you guys had a good day out, and I do apologise for forgetting to thank you all formally in the closing announcement!!! If there is anything our club can do to return the favour to you guys, please do not hesitate to let me know. Am already going to request our webmaster put your link on our club site and try to mention you in our media coverage, but if you have any ideas just shout! Until then, I hope you all enjoyed your day and maybe got inspired to give it a go yourselves!!!! Kindest Regards and thanks once again, on behalf of Stonehaven & District Motor Club, Roy Kemp PS, Any piccies? Stick them up!!!! []

Just so you guys know what to expect, here is the provisional entry list for tomorrow, some interesting machinery on there! Reckon by Sunday night a heap of you will be trawling eBay and scot-ads for a cheap early Impreza to tear to bits for the one in september.... -

No worries mate! Just thought Roy Henry sounded more like a character from a poncy Jane Austen Victorian period drama... [:@] -

Hi guys, good to see youre all keen to come along and get into the thick of it! Like zeolite said, once you've seen an Autocross in action, you're guaranteed to want a go! Signing on starts at 1000, and first practise starts at 1100. Marshalls have to sign on as well (so youre covered by insurance etc etc etc) so any time between 10 and half 10 should be cool. Even if some of you are only popping up for half the day, that would be great as its quite a long day so we could get you to take over from the morning marshalls. I will try to provide a few deckchairs etc for the marshalls posts but bringing your own would be a good plan! Cheers for all the help lads and lasses! Ayrton Senna remembering 12 years on
creationracing replied to STi_Bandit's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Still remember that day, got home a bit later than expected so thought I'd only have missed the first few laps of what should have been a great race, only to find the red flags out and marshalls attending to Senna. Spent the rest of the day glued to the motorsport page on Teletext (no internet back then) waiting for any good news, very upset when it didnt come. Truly a driver who could take an average car and make it look like something special... And was daft enough to take a drunken swing at Eddie Irvine! [] Doesnt seem like 12 years though does it? -
Will be there, co-dring car 50.... [] Seeing as I'm making the journey, I will try to drag along some spare bodies for marshalling as well... Roy
