  7. Cheers, i'm planning on doing the service myself to save some money just not that confident on timing belts. What sort of money just for the belt to get done you think?
  8. Afternoon everyone, I have recently purchased a 94 - L wrx standard impreza and was wondering if anyone new when the belt should have been done. It has 72,000 miles and the seller doesn't know when it was last done (he has only done 5k in it), what sort of money should i expect to pay for a belt change at a normal garage. I was also wanting to give it a quick service, is it a big job changing the oil, plugs etc? Thanks for info in advance!
  9. Well pal i'm new on here and for one have to back this statement up 110%. I seen posts on other sites that had references to bickering on here and at first just thought it was lies however recently i have seen some evidence of this and think it's un-called for!!!!! If you don't have anything constructive to say, DON'T SAY IT!
  10. That does seem to be true, people say you need to use higher octane or the engine COULD go pop. However two of my mates have old skool wrx's and they are running standars fuel with no drastic consequencies (excelent spelling, i know) loose a little bit of power thats all!!
  11. More noise means more air flowing through exhaust, more air flowing through exhuast means more energy pushing car forward!
  12. Right enough, the J-plate ones were very limited. You should a kept it, will be worth alot of money!!!
  13. The RS is always going to atract attention specially since there's not alot of nice ones, but at the end of the day an impreza's an impreza and that's why were all here. Had your s2 for long, did you show it at any shows.

  15. There are a few little bits (back bumper, inside bottom drivers door) apart from that its good, its been undersealed and waxoyled something cronic so even if rust wanted to start it couldn't. Not to sure about a price yet, prob as close to 3k as possible.
  16. Unfortunatly i can't afford to keep the series 1 as well as an Impreza, so as soon as i get it M.O.T'd its up for sale. It's not the cleanest escorts ever and its not conourse however it also doesn't sit in a garage all its life it is well used in the summer months. Will try and get some photos up as soon as i figure out how to work it.
  17. Cheers lads, I'm from the granite city, seen a few nice ones for sale here also one or two on fleebay (however a bit warey of Ebay). The best thing about it is i've been Quoted 600 quid insurance and i'm only 24 (get in!!!!) The Series 1 is really nice, always wanted one and was lucky enough to get one however i've also always wanted a scoob! What kind of M.P.G you guys getting?
  18. Hello fellow scot's! I'm new here as i have decided that now is the time to buy an impreza, therefore thought i would ask the experts opinions on them before i parted with my hard earned cash. Basically i'm looking at getting an import WRX STI and wondered what the general opinion was on them. I currently have an Escort series 1 RS turbo which i love but decided to get a scoob now before the kids come along etc and its too late!!!! Looking at spending 5-6k and not bothered about running costs etc, so any advice would very much appreciated. Thanks
