  1. I do like that air intake in the fog light cover, where did you get that and does it do anything apart from looking good? Did you just get the back lights tinted? If not how did you do it?

    Cheers

    Gary

I just sold some genuine black fog light covers on ebay! I just used the drivers side one with no light in it, removed the intake snorkel in the inner wing and ran a flexi pipe up into the airbox. Made it a tiny bit noisier, prob didnt make any bhp increase.

After this was taken i added a pipercross red anodised funnel behind the cover to make it a bit neater.

  2. The only thing i suppose to remember is that the 22B was almost the same price when it was new and it still holds about 25k price to this day so this cosworth may do the same and i know that this car doesnt have the 22B has .

The 22B had heritage though with the WRC, McRae etc. This thing has nowt, Subaru dont even compete anymore!

In the classifieds in a few years for 22k.

  3. Looks like everybody had a great time and the weather looks great compared to the monsoon last year! Who was driving the F1 car and what time did it manage?

The guy driving the F1 car was the owner, nobody famous. Was struggling all weekend with electrical problems. He was short shifting round the whole lap and to be honest was pretty poor compared to the Ferrari a few years back. Heard he did a 48 sec lap which surprised me as he looked slow.

The ferrari in 2006 did a 41.5 sec lap and wasnt really trying!

Dunc, it was De La Rosas from 2003.

  4. Touche' :)

Not offence taken, the Hatch is a very capable car i'm sure and everybody has their own tastes, its just unfortunate I dont like the new model as I have been Subaru through and through for 10 years.

I'm off to work in Italy on friday so wont make the meet, have a good one and drive safely!

  5. Z4 M Roadster, 340 BHP, 0-60 - 4.8 sec, 231bhp/ton.

    New Impreza STI, 296 BHP, 0-60 - 5.1sec, 200bhp/ton.

Slag me off all you want! The summers coming and I know where I'd rather be. After owning 5 Impreza's since 1999 I know exactly what they are like and its great being in something that is qaulity for a change. An interior that is on a completely different planet to any Impreza including the latest Hot hatch STI.

One of the worlds best engines linked to a proper drivers chassis too.

I dont like where Subaru have gone, deserted their legions of fans and brought out a fat turd of a car that needs remapped and new suspension to make it remotely interesting to drive, yes I have done quite a few miles in one.

Also the reaction I have got in the BMW from friends/passers by and especially women has been amazing, I had 3 female friends appear at mine over the weekend wanting me to take them for a drive! unlike the Subaru where it was totally opposite apart from the 'nice car mister' from shellsuited wasters.

I know the Z4 is a bit of a marmite car but I'll have fun over the summer then chop it in for a 911 or M3 CSL :)

  6. Z4 M Roadster ;)

Picked her up on thursday and done a few hundred miles so far, awesome to drive. A real handful and pretty lethal when you turn the traction control off! 340 bhp and a fantastic soundtrack too, very happy!

  7. Just an observation - Do you have to have 3 digits after your forum name to be a part of Perthshire Scoobs ? B) 222, 666, 300 !

It helps us identify members from less respectable parts of the country

Yes I am selling.....well not selling i'm trading in, didnt get too raped with it but was willing to take anything for it as its been a total jinx. Something nice coming for the summer B)

  8. When i first got my scoob I didnt like the windows being so dark so went to a tint company to see about getting them removed.

He qouted me nearly £200 and said the rear windows can be very difficult to remove and would probably damage the heater elements. If i was that desperate his recommendation was to 'accidently' smash the back window and claim a new one off insurance!

    I didnt bother!

  9. There isnt any joiners offshore! Try OP Marine, they do a lot of re-fitting of rigs and employ joiner types.

I am working alongside about 30 of them just now on a rig in Croatia.

  10. CRD did it with their Impreza in 2002 when George Smith was their Mechanic. If anyone knows where he is he could give you the whole story.

That'll be the same Impreza that shot off the end of the handling track at TOTB and through a fence when the brakes failed?!

I remember George, he worked for Falkland performance centre years ago.
