I don't think it would be a good idea for them to move as it would give you "ScoobyDoom" more time to harass the likes of me and "The fastone " on this forum . On a serious note being in the Forces I know what chaos centralisation of resources can cause. The closure of Aberdeen forensics would have a very detrimental effect on the work of the "shop floor", as you put it in the whole of Scotland. So lets hope the 'BRAINS??' see the error of their ways and continue down this mad slope any further.
Best of luck and I touch goats, SD.

You know too much... do you ever get out!?
Don't suppose you could post an annotated pic of a turbo showing the wastegate?
If you look at my thread " A little bit of Scooby Porn" picture 4 shows the exhaust impeller and the wastegate. Hope this helps

Mmmmmmm, new turbos.........
A trip to Ellon, you sure know how to treat the lady in your life!!!
I have to do the driving up from Lincolnshire!! What better than a trip out to a rolling road shoot out, with the possible rain and cold. Along with the music of 20 cars being put through their paces on the rollers. What more can she want (when not in private )
I am thinking about doing a week tour so it won't just be upto Ellon and back. She might get lucky and go to Keith or Fockabers (only kidding Pete)

Hubba Hubba
Nice 1 steve, I look forward to seeing this beast next time you visit the land of hills
Rich
She who must be obeyed would like to come back up North for a trip so might look at coming up in July maybe turn up at Ellon

did you just swipe that from one of the works motors steve? should certainly make the old girl fly!though you realise your going to have to change your username or wel prosecute you for trade descriptions
Need to get the numbers first Dave. But if I leave my nick the same atleast it will upset a few people who think it still runs 360.

oooooooooooohhhh
you get iron brew down south
in all seriousness very nice turbo. hows the local meets?
This is a bit stronger MAGNERS !!!
Had one meet that I have been able to make so far, the guys and girl seem quite pleasent. Am just waiting to see what happens, there are not as many hills (if any) down here but atleast yopu can see what the road does ahead and it only takes me 2 to 3 hours to get to the missus

After weeks of waiting my new turbo has arrived. All I need now is the injectors and the water injection kit. But to wet the appetite here are the pic's so far
Hopefully with some work on the rollers this will give me a nice 450 bhp +/- a couple.

I am sure it won't be long before the dump valve gets changed followed by the exhaust to emphasis the burble. Which would the mean a re-map so you might as well do the air filter maybe the turbo.
ScoUK behave yourself. Is Pete jumping ship??

Where have you been hiding Al? I am no longer at Lossie gopt my last tour in and got Coningsby a bit flatter than up there but a hell of a lot closer to home and the bird. My insurance went down to £620 this time but will be going up as I am looking at a new engine, 2.5 @ 500 bhp.

cheers guys, think il try falkland in the morning and see if they can do anything this week. its a sti vltd style splitter from revolution ive got colzo, which the garage split when they picked it up but thats another story
Dave got to GT tyres in Nairn they sorted mine out after fitting the Tein flex suspension. When the units are fitted they have dropper links that can be used to get below the spoiler. I dont have the price I paid last, their phone number is 01309674161. The guys are enthusiastic and will talk you through what is needed and you get a before and after printout, showing the adjustments.

Thanks guys i know my wifes wrx ra has one,but just wanted to know what others had them.Thinking of getting one to build a big bhp unit for my terzo.
GET the 2.5 in there don't mince around.

Heh ! Nice to hear your enjoying the new car! I've got a soft spot for the FTO's They have the look of a real sports car *drool*
BTW - I believe I have the origonal side skirts off your car Dontcha just love the SIDC...
Nice!
As for the headlights, got them wired up so they are functioning at the moment.. need to have another hash at it and put in a relay in so the dipped and high-beam lights are on at the same time. At the moment it switched to either or but would prefer both lit up on high-beam.. I think that's how it's supposed to be.. (BTW - if anyone want's a set of brand new Bugeye Eye-lids let me know )
I think it is supposed to be individual lighting, I think it is to do with the amount of heat produced. As when I fitted the Morettes using the standard wiring (from those lights) that is how they came on. I know I got a load of wiring with them, that was meant for fitting them to the WRX but ripped all that out. It was a pity that I could not swap the adjusting motors over so we both had the adjustment.

Ok folks need a wee bit of help here, what impeza's have closed deck blocks as standard??
Normally the Sti's have closed deck as it is a stronger block.

After changing front struts should the tracking be checked and adjusted if necessary?
my opinion would be that it should be checked after changing any suspension / steering component
Cheers
Stevie
You should get a full 4 wheel alignment done as by removing the bolts that secure the front struts you will also have messed up the camber angles.
Hope this helps.

So is it a good idea for all 99-00 cars to have Knocklinks fitted then... think I'll need to be looking into getting one then....
Especially for your head, as it detonates every time you use it.

All the best with the move Steve .Is this a new RAF posting . There's a few Raf bases in lincolnshire
Yes it is another posting. I have another 4 years to do yet so hopefully it will pass fast

Right Steve, I need to get my ass up there mate!
You about in the next couple of days?
Am here till Friday morning at the moment, but am going to be busy finishing packing and loading my car. So give me a ring before you come up then I know you will be up.

A big thanks to Pete, Euan, Alan and the outsider Richie. For making last Thursday night a good last meet. I was not expecting other than Pete so was quite suprised. It is going to be somewhat different in the flatlands of Lincolnshire and having to travel more than 10 miles to get to some good roads out in the hills.
So all the best for you all and I hope the Elgin Scoobies a good future and hopefully over the next few years. I will be visiting and able to meet up, even if we do allow the odd misguided individual to tag along . Hopefully he will see the error of his ways and revert back to the goodside of the fence.

This weekend my wife and I had a heart stopping moment. Whilst watching TV at my parents we noticed that our 8 month old King Charles Cavilier Spaniel had got from the table a packet of my wife's tablets; on inspection of the packet there were 5 empty blisters. I was 99.9% certain that my wife had taken two of the tablets and we found the other 3 that had been chewed through the packet and had come out. One of the capsules looked to have been punctured. On contact with an emergency vet, at the time the thought was he may have consumed two of the capsules. They contacted the poisons centre who said for his size two could be LIFE THREATENING, so we took him to the nearest emergency vets. During this time we could account for 4 tablets and in my mind there was still the 0.1% doubt about the fifth. He is fine now! But 10 minutes and this could have been a different story for 2 reasons. Firstly he could have swallowed more tablets. Secondly I had just poured myself a large whiskey but had not drunk any when we noticed. If I had taken a drink out of 3 drivers no-one would have been fit to take him to the vets. We nearly lost our lovely puppy. It could so easily have been fatal or have been a baby / infant. So please be extra careful with any medication prescription or retail.
