About evolutionice.com

  1. IMO the RAC system is a better system. It has GPS which neither the retrieve nor the monitor have. To get this in a tracker product you would have to go for the more expensive Horizon. The GPS means that if your car is stolen, they can track it to its location instantly. The Retrieve and the Monitor both rely on a radio system. This means that there has to be a police locator vehicle within a reasonable distance of your vehicle so that it can pick up the signal and track it. The other main difference is that the RAC trackstar can be removed and refitted as many times as you like. This makes it a much more financially viable solution if you change your car quite regularly. Cost wise the RAC trackstar can be had for a similar price to the Tracker monitor and the subscription rates are the same except that you have a choice of terms. Monthly, Quarterly, Annually. Hope this helps. Gav.
  2. the ticking when you turn off the ignition is likely to be the auto-unlock feature. The ticking on arm and disarm will be the relays for the central locking and indicators that are inside the brain of the alarm. This is all normal. I would have a look for a red/yellow and a red/black wire coming out of the main brain of the system. Check that they are both showing 12v+. There should also be a blue/yellow and a grey/yellow. They should show a ground (12v-) Finally there should be a grey/red and a blue/red. The grey/red should show 12v+ on locking and 12v- at rest. The blue/red should show 12v+ on unlocking and 12v- at rest. HTH.
  3. probably a fuse mate. check up behind your dashboard as that is where they are generally located. Otherwise try in the drivers kickpanel. HTH and isn't considered a commercial post Gav.
  4. No worries mate. There are quite a few interesting things that have been released recently. BTW SIDC Moderator . I sent an email, regarding advertising, over a year ago and no-one bothered to reply. Might be an good idea to send me an email detailing the costs involved. Regards Gavin
