  1. Tisk Tisk ! What office are you in ? Saw you the other day but didn't wave in time ..........how's the V6 ?
  2. I started another thread like this one a while back............. FAO are a ball ache in my opinion :- they clutter up the pages something rotten If you make this your SIDC favourite :- http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/?404;http:...es.cfm?catid=11 and check your PM's first you'll keep us "FAO" haters happy ! But ultimately a pop up would be the best solution [] CGS
  3. Pics were taken with a Sony T9 DSC - the best camera in my opinion for someone who isn't interested in photography and just wants a nice clean image. The originals are 6 Mb in resolution until Photobucket annihilates them !
  4. In true "Fee" stylee......... I had the day off today so went from ABZ to Kemnay (Brian Downies for sniff round) to Alford to Strathdon to Ballater to Banchory ( an the old South Deeside Rd to ABZ) It was all accompanied by The Eagles and Dire Straits in Road Trip tradition....... Here are the pics, roads were dead, it was heaven [<)] What an immense route, scared myself a few times so during a small shower ! CGS
  5. Hmmm...........I thougt the majority of R33 were total weapons Next time I see one of the road as might be less " feart". In fairness, the Evo boys were packing a fair punch. Still glad the Macca "owned" them though
  6. Not nice, this internet conjecture, is it?! At least I didn't say "the person that mapped it should've known better". Cal, IF Dastek yesterday did have an issue with their wideband, it may have been down to the new logging software (1st time out). We are using a different wideband without the software (mapped several other cars up to 400bhp last week with no issues). If you'd like to drop in one evening this week I'll gladly verify the fueling with two different widebands. May at least give you (and Andy!) some peace of mind. I'd much prefer help out rather than argue. Thanks for the offer Russ. I will give you a call if I am up that way [] No arguing from me whatsoever by the way, I was just answering Wuz and Andy query w.r.t the definition. I wasn't gonna type anything up to begin with as I suspected it would end in my typing this sort of note. No sweat either way.....I don't really know much about mapping to be honest so I am not in a strong position to comment. CGS
  7. That video was another peach my nutting munching amigo ! The signature is emotive too [] By the way are you a grey or red squirrel ? Wilky - that car is a ridiculously mental mobile. How do you restrain yersel' on the main roads ! CGS
  8. Excellent wee video :- who owns ** FKL - it sounded like Satan with a nice wee flame too ! Good work fella CGS
  9. It looks WET down there ! I think the sofa and cold beer option with a better view is king. ITV need to give us some more incar footage though [] Drying up now by the looks of it though CGS
  10. It will be interesting to see the bust between the two dyno's ? Cheers Cal.
  11. What about an old one Cal, haven't you heard? Classics rule! [] As much as I like the old skool whips I need a daily driver that's reliable. I would cold turkey if I didn't drive her everyday anyway. I am more of a millenium man although the idea of a sneider car for winter has crossed my mind
  12. Andy - I have sent you a PM on this issue. I think we have a repeat situation of what happened to the Dastek folk yesterday i.e http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/771122/ShowPost.aspx. I think my readings went from 11.25 to 13 at higher end of the rev. range. I think it's wise of Wallace to forewarn me of this issue as there may genuinely be something wrong with my car. However, I think it was just an anomaly and I trust Andy's mappin implicitly. Cheers Cal
  13. In hindsight probably yes......but my burd at the time was not keen on the ironing board "tail" as she called it and I personally think the gold wheels ain't so "purdy". As you know your self, you buy something and aren't content for very long so start some tinkering. This of course propagates into a modding cancer. So STi performance became something to aim for ( or an equivalent WRX PPP). My signature is just a virtual tongue in cheek designed to wind up the purists in a banter like fashion. And I'm not babbling, I am burbling [] .......[] But ultimately you are correct, having just got married and bought a new gaff, a new scooby ain't on the cards for a while. Hence I mod away quietly in pursuit of something rapid that won't me stick out like a bonar on a daschund....Give me a new Litchfield Type 25 though and I'll give you one of my kidney's ! Cheers CGS
  14. Thanks Russell ! .............when are you back ? Did Angela get my new bambino "kerd". I think I will require your services on your return :- * Rear discs & pads - deffo * New front pads - deffo * Oil Change - unless I bite the bullet and give it a bash myself * Rear Drop links - again unless I bite the bullet and give it a bash myself * Rear ARB - if purchased in time Cheers mate - hope all is going well in pursuit of our favourite hydrocarbon Cal p.s edit :- anyone know what insurers are like w.r.t ARB kits ?
  15. That seems fair to me.............paxxing is not a crime but should command a small pleasure fee in my opinion [*] CGS
  16. Nice video - only got the chance to watch it with sound the nicht. Large cojones on parade at the top of Duffus ! What suspension mods have you got big chap ? CGS
  17. Wilky - well done you Scooby lovin' head case ! Now yer chariot's up to scratch I think you should invest in a new pair o' sneakers [] Stephano - I can see Winston paying you a virtual visit ! Well done lads - especially in aid of a worthwhile cause [H]
  18. Si-pie, This is an interesting quote relative to your comment :- Personally I am biased on this issues so but it's handling versus bling me finks in this instance CGS

  21. This had me ripping the ass of my BMX burner after watchin' an episode in the 80's http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5...mp;q=streethawk At the 1 minute mark I started getting nostalgic goosepimples  :!: I know it's been on Bravo but i haven't see in for something like 20 years or so !!! Anyone else dig this show.............it was fookin' MEGA okay so he's not The Stig but it reminded me of him Cal ( showing his vintage )
  22. Nah...........these runs were done in 4th anyways. Andy Forrest just recommended I do this to extract the best from the map as the car was just shy of target boost in 2nd gear during the mapping session i.e wasn't picking up as sharply as it should be in 2nd. Bairn - you're a bad influence my son ! The splitter looks a tad goosed at the passengers side but nothing major. I couldn't see the crack underneath due the close proximity of a wall but pretty sure it got twatted ( although i might be wrong) CGS
  23. Cheers lads....... Dipsy - no need for remap woith the actuator tweak ( just one turn when the heat shield is next off) but yes a remap would be required with the TD04 along with a Walbro probably. Brian - my sentiments exactly. I just cannot swallow the Prodrive costs although I;ll have to bite the bullet as rattling springs would cheese me right off. I saw your car in T&C again yesterday - I thought it looked slightly lower and more taught !. For the benefit of the newbies who are considering the modding game. Do your homework on here, buy all the selected mods in a "oner" and then install promptly before hitting Andy F's doorstep sharpish. I did this over 14 months or so instead ( paretly beause you are never satisfied when modding)........I have paid more for the pleasure but in hindsight I got to appreciate each tweak as the car evolved ( whilst watching the fuel gauge reduce !) Awra' breast ( edit :- the filter wont let me type "b-reast" !) Cal
  24. STUNNING MY02 white bugeye with UK300 style spolier and PFF7's I nearly crashed my whip whilst gawking at it. Really tidy car - I think the last three letters were *** RGM ? Love it ! CGS
  25. While you guys were in Fife I slipped up to Wallace for reasons you'll find below... Thanks go to<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Russell Hulme ( Wuz) , Andy F and Russ & Craig @ Wallace performance.......all great servicio ! The background My goal has been to slowly mod my car and create a daily runner which has a reasonable combination of power mods, chassis tweaks and powerful brakes which can handle the odd track day. My suspension is untouched as yet but the brakes have been fettled and are more than adequate for track and road in their current state. So Whiteline gear to follow me finks. The aspiration is to hone my car into a reliable all-rounder B-road weapon which can extract the odd STi scalp ( if required). Of course the STi ( say a 2002 UK model for arguments sake) has many different features other than the 6 speed box, stronger brakes & better handling but I like the thought of issuing a small fright on occasion. Apparently the STi UK 2002 model had 261.5bhp at 6,000rpm and at 253 lb ft at 4000 rpm. Anyway, purpose of the post is to show how a few tweaks can dramatically transform a 215 bhp standard WRX into something a bit tastier. 3 graphs on each page represent the 3 different RR sessions I have had at Wallace ( Dastek system) over 3 different stages of tune over 12 months or so ( I kept using the same dyno set-up for consistencies sake despite having no control over weather etc !) Stage 1 - the usual attempts to let her breathe and free up some burble Factory Map + K&N panel filter, WR Sport backbox, ScoobySport decat link pipe and unsilenced centre section. Horrible standard WRX downpipe & up-pipe cat still in-situ. Stage 2 - a remap to see what gains can be realised from Doctor F Andy Forrest Map + the above ( measily 1.1 bar due to EGT / cat restrictions) Stage 3 - more serious tweaks in pursuit of more boost & ponies Revised Andy Forrest Map + ScoobySport Backbox mated to to complete turbo back TSL Thundercat system ( high flow 100 cell cat) + decat H&S up-pipe + ported turbo ( though still a standard TD04). Not hitting target boost in 2nd as I need to tweak the actuator but 3rd & 4th is hitting 1.2 bar of boost. The results (I know the real indicator is how it feels on the road but the below is a worthwhile exercise to superimpose the three runs) ( edit - the middle line should read 230 ft.lb's ) In summary, I have a nice quick spool up with torque flooding in early & strong ( above is 4th gear on all runs (I believe)) with peak torque almost delivered at only 3500 rpm. Bottom line is 280 bhp @ 5750 rpm and 265 ft.lbs @ 5200 rpm. [H] Any thoughts ..as to what should come next ( TD04 hybrid perhaps plus larger IC ?) Not really keen on going beyond 300 bhp in line with my reliability mindset. Handling recommendations also welcome - not keen on the brutal drop of Teins but Eibachs may be next. However, the standard springs are excellent on a bumpy B-road so maybe Whiteline gear alone may prove the remedy ? Cheers Cal p.s Thanks also go you loony tunes for providing the inspiration & muchos knowledge !!!!!!!!!!!!
