  8. I think those folk dont understand the full impact of losing Colin (and others) and may just think you are jumping on the bandwagon. i'm keeping my tribute stickers, black ribbons on mirror and aerial on the car until they fall off, and will be adding the smaller signed sticker that Class A are doing on the panel next to my front driver side wheel, under the STi badge. Everytime I drive the scoob and see the ribbon round my mirror blowing in the wind, I get a surge of emotion and I dont want to forget that...
  9. agree with Zeolite. Was thinking that, if we were to do an article, the tone of the writing should reflect the sombre mood, the incredible sadness of losing Colin, Johnny, Ben and Graeme and the awful shock that reverberated throughout the rallying world. I'll have a shot of writing something this weekend, I'll include our inpromptu but worldwide tribute the morning after the accident and also our attendance at the service held on Sunday. Would like to use some quotes posted on several threads here, as I think it will capture our reaction to losing Colin.
  10. nearly choked on ma porridge there. gonna no say things like that
  11. I clicked this thread thinking it was a query about the place Callander in Stirling LoL There is normally a wall chart that comes with the Nov/Dec edition of True Grip. Gla region were also talking about producing a calender made up of member's cars but not sure how that is going.
  12. that clip gets sexier every time I watch it I'm so glad we pulled that off! What an achievement. it can be an advert for Subaru
  13. its been such a busy weekend that i've not had the chance to post up about Friday night. Nanaki hired a, ahem car, and we set off from Glasgow just after 6pm. After 3 hours on the road of talking, eating junk food and playing (and winning at) Mario Kart on the DS, we arrived at the venue just in time to catch the last bit of the food. Got a lift to cash machine in Zanders' yummy Type R and proceeded to buy some drinks, raffle tickets and funny money to gamble. I'm ecstatic that I won the 1st prize in the raffle, my RA is going on track baby!! Also won a bottle of vodka in the smaller raffle, which I proceeded to serve to folk sitting at the table. Was accused the next day of starting a drinking competition with Reizer's mother in law ) We were shattered by midnight and decided to give going clubbing in the town a miss. It was a top night, had good banter with everyone and I had a great time
  14. gee Neil you have missed a lot... there's been tons of selling and buying going on
  15. I wave to every scoob I see and usually get a wave or an acknowledgment in return actually, i wave, flash and beep the horn if its a scoob i recognise. And i'm getting better at spotting them earlier LoL
  16. great video Stewart - the sight and sound of us setting off is giving me goosebumps! any more video footage? unfortunately the footage from the lead car didnt quite turn out the way we wanted it to - got 10 mins of me sitting stationary in Happendon as Grant started recording a bit too early
  17. i just want to clarify that my passenger Nanaki who was on the phone to Noel
  18. good to see you got home ok John I'm so pleased you managed to bring such a strong contingent of scoobs with you.. high praise indeed from the madman that organises the Northern Big One good writeup by the way, LoL at "As always military precision was applied..." thanks Ally for posting the links to news articles... the power of the internet, eh? 6 hours after the event and it is already online. STV have put together footage:)
  19. Just in after the Service. Well done Grant for the few words he gave before we set off, for organising the Cumbrian and Tyne Tees scoobs - think Lord Harding brought 25 scoobs with him, loved the white Classic RA with full front rally-style lights and also for directing the stragglers that were running late or got caught up in traffic Well done Ally B for liaising with the police and event organisers - the convoy went very smoothly and it felt so good driving along in the police escort and seeing the traffic stopped for us. Thanks too, to Strathclyde Police, they have been so cooperative and friendly in the run up and during this. Thanks to those that travelled from England and Wales to meet us, even had a v2 555 from West Midlands, complete with the rally livery stickered up with the full monty New Zealand rally '95. Thanks to ScoUK for providing and fitting the stickers for me, and also the fella from Cumbrian Scoobs that gave me the long ribbon for my aerial The convoy to Lanark was an unbelievable sight, a snake of scoobs winding its way through the valley. It brought a lump to my throat and i found it difficult to keep my eyes on the police traffic car in front of me The Service aptly celebrated the lives of Colin and Johnny and it was a privelage to watch some family footage of them, at christmas time and also Johnny in his school nativity play. It made me smile to see Johnny donut-ing his wee buggy when prompted by his dad It was very emotional but also a very happy service. Pleased to be a part of it, I think we made scooby history today. Rest In Peace Colin, Johnny, Ben and Graeme
