  1. Little more lag at bottom end, but more power top end. And it runs like it's a cold day when it's hot. But intercoolers block the radiator typically, so therefore cooling is slightly compromised. However, intercoolers are ESSENTIAL if you want to run more boost and bigger turbos safely - run too small an intercooler and your bigger turbo will go bang.
  2. Eagle F1s are crap for the track - the tyre wall is soft therefore you get 'scrubbing' at the edges. A great road tyre however, I use 'em all the time and they don't wheelspin too badly in the wet. Still, they are a medium compound so last long but take a while to heat up particularly in the wet. A good long lasting safe road tyre, with decent dry performance but defo not for the racetrack. Prob.recommend Toyo 888s or Dunlop DZs for track.
  3. Sorry Pete, got it all on camera so I'll post the video up later, lol
  4. I'm installing an air/fuel ratio meter in the car with a wide-band lamda sensor. For those of you who don't know - it makes sure that your fueling is correct, particularly at higher boost. It plumbs into your downpipe and isn't difficult to fit. The digital readout lets you know when fuel is too rich or too lean. My ECU is a TOMS TECS and needs 100 octane. So I use Silkokene or Millers to boost Optimax to 100. That's a must when using a Jap fuel map / ECU. To get more techy, it's the MON rating which is important. And BP Ultimate has a higher MON rating than Optimax. Most people believe up to 18psi, things are OK with octane boost/optimax etc. but soon as you go over that boost level things become very critical and racing fuel would be a better option. As for knocking, I only have the factory knock sensors. I'd hope the ecu/factory setup will let me know when things are wrong as I understand a big job in my car to add an additional knock sensor (I've got a Toyota 2JZ-GTE engine).

  9. I sympathise - I had a spate of punctures - 3 in total over 1-2 weeks. Careful examination of my driveway found screws and nails lying there, and these were the things that were getting pulled out of my tyres. Some cock had been careless with their diy....
  10. It was about 300 quid I recall. Think it's a Chamberlain or something. Cheap and works a treat. Also the chain system basically acts as a very secure lock for your garage.
