  1. IMO they need to be left in peace, leave them be and let them do the normal family thing. It's a huge occaision for them and their family without the media hounding them already. Yes there's a lot of public interest but that shouldn't come at the expense of them being allowed to operate as a normal family.

When changing channels last night they were trying to predict what the baby was going to be called based on family members, previous kings, etc. Why bother, they'll pick a name they want their son to be called, for their own reasons, and there isn't a prize for guessing right.

Report the news, not total bullshit that they're hoping will attract people to their particular news feed of nothing happening!! How many hours of airtime yesterday were dedicated to absolutely nothing happening before and after the announcement?? Infuriating!!

    [/rant] ;)

  2. There were some quality modifications as well, the full workshop (including pillar drill) in May's Vulva, just what his ride height needed.

And as for Clarksons comment that Kristin Scott Thomas 'will probably do some lesbionic actions'

Would love to go off on an expedition like that!!

  3. re050, mud and snow marked ... you sure? they're basically a summer tyre, very few blocks and mainly solid tread ... mine got taken off as i know they're rubbish in cold conditions, superb till about October though. Goodyear Ultragrip 8 Performance fitted now, Bridgestones are upstairs for spring time though :)

  4. I use the Hatch all year round, got winter tyres on her this winter and will do from now on each winter. Only bought her about a year ago and couldn;t afford them last year so it stayed parked up and used my little Vitara that i;ve got for if it gets properly snowy, last time we had a load of snow the Vitara was ace fun, sent it pirouetting down a single track lane gently nudging off the hedges either side ... had a bit of grass stuck to the bull bars on the front afterwards but that was it, was a great laugh. Was my own fault for leaving it in 2wd mode and getting too cocky ;) Vitara is ready and raring to go again this year apart from a leaking fuel tank if its more than half full and the brake servo's playing up so occaisionally i dont have any assistance ... should probably get that fixed, think it's just a leaky hose :)

  5. I'm one of those joined the forum but haven't really contributed a lot, I'll help where I can but not having really got under the car and had to fix a lot of issues I can't really help much. On previous forums I've been able to contribute a lot as I've been there done that and fixed a lot of stuff. With my STI though it's a lot newer car and as such hope I'm not having to fix stuff here there and everywhere.

As much as it is nice for people to reply to posts, I'd rather not just reply for the sake of it, especially when it comes to solving problems, it just clutters up the persons thread when they're trying to solve a problem.

I agree with the Introduce Yourself though, I maybe could participate a bit more :)

Must get round to actually sorting out membership too, did try a while back and it wouldn't let me as it said my username was taken ... yes, it's me that's got it .. doh. Will get round to that soon :)

  6. Watched it the other night, nice that he had a lot of good things to say about the Island and the TT course though :)

Subaru brought over a load of american journalists and about 10 or 15 BRZ's went round in convoy ... most of them wrote the most sensationalist articles about the TT rather than the car. I think one opened with 'In the time we've been on the Island 7 people have died' which was complete and utter cr@p. Think the Issle of Man Government went after them legally after those articles were published

  7. Hi joined the forum recently. I am in the isle of man and have a 2004 wrx. Had it for 2 years now.

trying to decide if to make any modifications or keep it in its standard spec. Either way no better car for the Manx roads.

Welcome to the club, another Manxy here :)

  8. Yes because i have no fear of death in the virtual world. Mind you he probably has none in reality. I remember when he hit that cow in Brazil and ended up 100ft down a ravine! How they came out unscathed I'll never know

They're all a little bit 'special' to do what they do, not sure whether it's a lack of fear or just supreme confidence? Either way there must be a couple of screws up there that aren't quite right ;)

He had no hesitation of winging it on the grass wherever he could to cut corners ;)

  9. for Nikon most Nikon lenses work, just got to watch about non CPU lenses that need a camera that will do all the autofocus stuff internally. as far as i am aware most recent lenses are CPU lenses and have all the gubbins on board rather than being controlled by the camera. I THINK that with most of these CPU lenses the camera sends a command that says 'autofocus' and then the lens does all the gubbins to decide what the lens needs to do to get it in focus.

I may be talking rubbish there but im sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

im sure a google will tell you if somethings compatible or not ;)

  10. Lenses are key, I only upgraded my camera for more features once I knew what I was doing (or at least think I do). Buying my wider 18-105 lens to replace my narrow 18-55 lens made a huge difference to my photos. Wider the lens the better as it let's more light in so you can run faster shutter speeds ;-) a must for action sports

  11. I learnt a lot by teaching myself, read a few bits online then just played to see what worked. Key is to be able to take photos with lowest ISO possible to reduce the noise, sometimes it's not possible due to lighting conditions.

If you look at the pics at the bottom of this thread i took them with my D5100 with an 18-105mm lens :) Ignore the first photo, was taken on a battered work phone ;)

  12. Links below go to tables on wikipedia that group the camera into various categories, you can probably use this as a basis to then look at specific models and compare features and prices ;) There's plenty of user/consumer/professional reviews that compare similar models from Nikon and Canon as well, just stick the usual "XXX vs YYY" into Google :)

    Nikon

    Canon
