  1. Thanks alot, and love the GB270! I think i will end up doing that tbh, have a motorbike for a while, just to commute, and depending on what i do with my life, i will then decide on cars, start of small and work up,

Nothing wrong with getting a pug and doing it up, so might do something like that, learn some mechanics and have fun along the way :)

    Thanks alot

    Mike

  2. Thanks alot everyone :)

Going to start small as you have all said, and work up to my dream car :), and im going for a Yamaha yzf 125 g1983, a wee scooter is classed as an hairdryer in the youth community now a days, and it will have its wheels removed in Sainsburys car park, else i would :L lol,

Then in the mean while, learn to drive and get my licence, drive my mums shitreon c3 ( as Davey put it) and build some NCB, then i'll hopefully be on my way to getting the Subaru, hopefully soon enough, so i can still pull girls in it :L lol

    Thanks

    Mike

  3. thanks,

Didnt surprise me much either tbh, but like you said, was surprised by the 25 upwards :L, my plans from now, will be motorbike for the first 3 years, to get me places, then try and try and get a good few years with experience, then go for a Subaru, cause i could use it as a family car anyway :L lol

    Thanks

    Mike

  4. you really wanna know Spect, you might cry ;)

first car, Subaru impreza Wrx sti, : £85,600 OUCH!

but this is suprising, my twin wants a Ford fiesta, 1200cc, the new ones, and they won't even touch him, and yet they would me on a subaru, jsut very exspensive, how weird! lol,

Then typed in my Dads Bmw z4 3.0i, and it lagged up, i think it laffed at me ;L ahah

  5. ( Cheapest )

    Age 17, first car,

    Subaru impreza wrx 2003: £30645.56 ( wow )

Subaru impreza wrx 1999: no quotes

Subaru Impreza GX Mods: £11023.08 ( with exhuast, spoiler, scoop)

    Subaru impreza GX w/mods: £9123.87

Age 18, with 1 year no claims,

    Subaru impreza wrx 2003: £16673.38

    Subaru impreza wrx 1999: £19923.99

    Subaru impreza Gx Mods :£4783.71

    Subaru impreza gx w/mods: £2424.60

So that turned out to be very cheap!! lol

just thought id also check, if i was 20 ( 3rs) on a wrx and it was : £9764.33

And again at 25 with 7 years: £2484.64

    Then at 30 with 12 years: £1457.04

    Then at 40 with 22 years: £971.89

I think confused is takin the pee tbh :L, 22 years and still almost £1000 , wow!! thats not even an sti, heres what an sti would cost me, at 30 with 12 years : £1606.24

This helped me alot, and i hope it helps other people!!, the details are ..

In Lincolnshire, locked in a garage at night, and in a secure car park during the day, not commuting any more than 2000 miles a year, and are willing to pay £500 for damage :L

  6. Another thought,

would it work out cheaper, if for instance i insured my older brother on the car, as its his car, then i was 3rd party, but i drove it? or is that illegal :S lol

Or even, me and my twin bought a 2003 subaru, then we both got insured on it, but one was 3rd party, and we split the cost of insurance?

  7. Just do your house. millions of people use these sites a week. you will never know the proper value. you would be as well saying its 360 per year. if your doing it do it correcty. as said before use your brothers info

thanks, will do that in a min :) just check with my parents :L

  8. Thanks,

I'll do a fake insurance quote, on a postcode somewhere local, with a fake name, and see what happens, hopefully someone won't be sent letters :S, can i do that??

Then i'll post to you what the quotes are for a subaru impreza gx sport with mods and the impreza wrx :)

Will post it in a bit.

    Thanks

  9. I got a UK Turbo classic at 21 years old with one years no claims but I had been driving for two years. It cost me £2150 to insure fully comp the first year. I had no points on my license.

That was six years ago so now I should imagine the same qoute would be over £3,000. For your circumstances I would do a confused qoute. I have done plenty and never received any junk mail! For the purpose of the qoute you will have to add two years to your age and make out you just passed your test. You will also have to pretend you want the insurance to start within 28 days from now. You don't need a reg as you can just pick the car from a list. Putting false info in is not a problem as you are not actually going to take out the quotes.

Confused will give you a list of prices but you will find its a very short list as most insurers simply will decline to offer to insure you on a group 17 car. I would guess that the quotes will be over £4,000 but that's plucked out of thin air. Don't forget that if you pay for the car and insurance with say this £8,000 and almost half of that is insurance within 12 months you will need to find the same amount again and so on EVERY year. It won't drop much until you are 25. You will be limited to UK models as you won't get a jap one insured under 25.

Good luck but don't be surprised if you have no takers. A turbo Impreza is not a good first car or even second car if you are still a teenager. This is IMO but I am sure I would have crashed it if I had jumped straight in one at 17.

Thanks alot, will do that later today, considering the time :L, and see what it generates,

would you thin k i would have more chance with a impreza GX 2L NT? with the looks and a new exhuast to make it the same as a wrx?

    Thanks alot

    Mike

  10. Rural oxfordshire... About as low as crime rates go ;)

I'm not blunt, just typing on a mobile. Difficult to convey emotion :)

nice, ours is low aswell, rural Lincolnshire, the only thing that happens here are someone thinking its funny to be racist at the migrant workers, and thats nothing to do with vehicles!! lol

and kwl, wasn't meaning it to be mean anyway :L

  11. thats fine, will have to look into this, but do you still think it would be expensive for a first car?? on liability cover or 3rd party? id always pay for the damage myself, so i dont claim, else it ruins your later chances of cheap insurance! if im only spending £3000 on the car, it would devastate me, but not so much as a £8,000 modded wrx :L

  12. Remember you need to declare modifications which will add more money.

yeah , thats the problem, always irritates me that fact, i get why the exhaust, but why adding a scoop to a bonnet? :L, never mind lol

ruff estimate for a subaru gx??

    Thanks mate
