  1. http://www.autotekelectronics.com/newautotek/CA/public/results.php?MakeDesc=SUBARU&ModelDesc=&EngineSize=&PartNumber=&Year=&CatDescription=Engine+Management+ECU

Factory fitted UNISA JECS ECU (they build ECUs/components for Subaru and other manufactures such as Nissan/Mitsubishi etc)

From what I can tell, the A18... etc is the part number: 22611AE380D3/A18000D67

    Hope that helps :)

sort of ,phoned up the company but they said the cant match it exactly..................oh well i will keep trying

  2. Probably easiest to give them a call: T: 0121 747 4000

Does the ECU say '88' or 'v88' a Vi-PEC do an ECU for the Impreza called 'v88'?

I tried calling the uk but had no joy. They did say subaru japan did do some different spec wagons but i would need to get hold of them. They didnt have an email address for japan

The ecu just has 88 written on it.Heres a link to the thread i started

  3. It's called banter. No offense intended, just without further details we can't really help beyond stating the obvious.

Again, without some sort of indication as to what you're needing the email addresses for, all we can offer you is the two info@ addresses I added above.

I have the majority of the Subaru email addresses on my mac at home. If you tell me which you need I can sort you out. Without knowing that though, I can't.

I dont mind the banter and no offense is taken but it was a fairly simple question.I really did try google (I promise)and you get nothing.

The reason I need them is to try and find out why my WRX wagon (jdm) different to the others.I would like to know if its a special model or just subaru using up whats left in the parts bin.

The car is a wrx wagon MY98 STI rear lights,VF29 turbo and light weight bonnet, also the ECU has "88" as the main number on it.At first I thought these were just changes made by previous owners but i have been in contact with someone else who has the same car as mine (he never found an answer).

Anyway lets hope someone can shed some light on it ,now whos up for a group hug :hump::hump::hump::hump::hump::hump::hump::hump::hump:

  4. Sorry bud the 97-98 cars were not mappable. Would be interested if you get a chance to open up the ecu case and see if there is a wee surprise inside? The stock ecu would not really be able to adapt to another turbo. How does the car drive? What boost? What other mods does it have? If you dont want to post on forum p.m. me.

    Thanks

    Graeme

will have a look at the ECU in the morning.Car runs fine alittle lean if anything.Boost is about 1.1/1.3 bar It can sometimes over boost if i really do plant my foot quickly, but only happens on the odd time

  5. i have tried looking into ecu types before so i could get information on mine but it seems like there are a million and one different ecus fitted to the same type of car , i didnt get anywhere , i even tried to start a subject about listing ecus and the car they were fitted to to try and narrow it down but nobody seemed to be that intersted so didnt get anywhere

Its a shame really, but i would at least like to find out if they ever used the VF29 on a wagon and as for the ECU i guess i will just have to take as it works and its on the car. :icon_hang:

Just 1 more thing is it the mappable type???????

  6. On the top of the strut tower in the engine bay there should be a plate with various information. One of the bits, the applied model code should help. It will start GC8......

the engine code does confirm that its a wrx wagon MY98.But the wrx wagon is meant to have a TD04 but mines got a VF29(as far as i know the STI saloons had VF29s )and nobody seems to know what my ECU is :brickwall::brickwall::brickwall:

  7. Hi i am new to this forum, but do belong to a few local ones. I own a 98 wrx wagon and have had it for about a year now,and love it.

I have had some problems indentifing what type of wagon it is though as nothing seems to match and am hopeing someone on here could shed some light on it.

The main thing is no one seems to recognise the ECU

    DSCF5066.jpg

also the car has a VF29 turbo and had STI rear lights
