i'm all for making a dealership pay to fix a car thats causing problems but this car is plagued, and if i'm honest the amount of time they held up proceedings sounds as if there has been an incident while it was at evans halshaw (possibly the cause of the damaged wheel) and quite honestly i would have parked it in their front window and taken back my money
my opinion: it's not worth holding onto the car with all thats gone on go out and find another one thats been looked after.
aftermarket warranties are not worth the paper their written on. perfect example being a 330ci convertible comes into my work (bmw dealership) as the roof won't open or close, so the customer has to foot an hours diagnosis as black horse warranty won't cover the inital diagnosis, turns out the hydraulic motor has burnt out after the system sprung a leak and ran out of fluid. the car now needs a new motor fitted and a few lines replaced, one heft repair bill to stomach for a car the customer has only had for 2 weeks
so we approach black horse who state that the convertible roof is not vital to the functioning of the car and they will not cover it, and as for our labour charge (at that point it was £98 an hour) was too high and they would only cover a labour rate of £40 an hour and it would have been up to the customer to pay the difference up to that value if they had indeed covered it, the customer promptly took the car back to verve where they bought it and got their money back
