  1. if their civic kits are anything to go by their not as well built as you would think on ek civics and dc2's the rears struggle to last any more than 2 years without leaking while the top mounts that came with my set disintegrated in 6 months i'd tend to recommend a basic set of KW's (variant 1's) over them as their build quality and lengthy warranty period if there is any problems was very impressive as for harshness i found the d2's overly harsh and even by fiddling about with the damping rates i couldn't get a setup that allowed for confidence over broken surfaces while soft on their damping setting is far too underdamped (felt like the wheels where acting like pendulums controlling the movement of the car) though this is all experience from my B18'd EK4 civic vti as opposed to an impreza i would say it perhaps sheds some light on their build quality
  2. i'm all for making a dealership pay to fix a car thats causing problems but this car is plagued, and if i'm honest the amount of time they held up proceedings sounds as if there has been an incident while it was at evans halshaw (possibly the cause of the damaged wheel) and quite honestly i would have parked it in their front window and taken back my money my opinion: it's not worth holding onto the car with all thats gone on go out and find another one thats been looked after. aftermarket warranties are not worth the paper their written on. perfect example being a 330ci convertible comes into my work (bmw dealership) as the roof won't open or close, so the customer has to foot an hours diagnosis as black horse warranty won't cover the inital diagnosis, turns out the hydraulic motor has burnt out after the system sprung a leak and ran out of fluid. the car now needs a new motor fitted and a few lines replaced, one heft repair bill to stomach for a car the customer has only had for 2 weeks so we approach black horse who state that the convertible roof is not vital to the functioning of the car and they will not cover it, and as for our labour charge (at that point it was £98 an hour) was too high and they would only cover a labour rate of £40 an hour and it would have been up to the customer to pay the difference up to that value if they had indeed covered it, the customer promptly took the car back to verve where they bought it and got their money back
  3. second vote for KW's, they're very well put together and they last have had a set of variant 1's on my fiestas they do variant 3's but they also do 2-ways and 3 ways etc best way to do it is to buy them direct dealt with a guy called alan hook myself and he sorted me out a set next day dispatch
  4. i also found grieves service to be top notch and am very surprised to hear something like this. as has been asked is there another side to this?
