  1. IMHO - At 10.5 - 11k it'll have to be a total minter ..... with very low miles to expect that sort of money !!!

The RB's seem to be changing hands for anything between 8 & 10k.

There are also 2 slightly different versions of the RB5. You have "normal" ones & the WR Sport models.

The WR model's ( which I have ) is a Prodrive enhanced version which comes with an extra glut of power/torque & probably the best spoiler available for the classics !!!

This is an extract from the SIDC FAQ site ......

To celebrate Richard Burns' first year in the Subaru World Rally Team, the RB5 (5 was the number Richard used during the 1999 WRC championship) was launched to critical acclaim by the press. 444 examples of this car were made available to the general public. A "WR Sport" version of the car was available at extra cost, specified at delivery time by the first owner.

  2. The HGK PFR7B's are what you want .

The PFR6B's are for use in standard / lightly modded cars .......... 7B's I use ..... as far as tips for fitting go , can't help you !!!  I let my wallet worry about that.![:$]

Filters are a tricky subject ....... bit like " which oil ? "  or " best tyres "  ..... everyone has their own view's and opinions ...... with yours being a my99 .... just be careful with the MAF sensor ... steer clear of oiled filters & induction kits , the MAF's don't like them.

Do a search in the Technical forum & read the reviews of different products.

    Good Luck,

    Ally.

  3. If " s1 msn " is who I think it is .... then I'm positive that he meant no harm to your car/paintwork Al .

I'm sure we're all guilty of " Having a Blast " on the Queens highway's from time to time ..... ?!

    Ally.

ps. -->  s1 msn - Thanks for Friday !!! ... will pop up later this week with some of  Mr.Kiplings finest ![:)]

    Hi Baz ,

I used to stay in Livingston up until last July. I still work there & am in Livi nearly every day.

I also play footy in Broxburn Centre every Monday & Friday morning , usually take the scoob ..... no doubt you'll see it skooting around ... This is my car here ....

     ....... the rear !!! [;)][*] LOL

  5. Just wondering who actually uses a dealer to service there car ??? & how important is a full SUBARU service history ???

IMO - If  I owned a new model that was still under warranty then I would probably use a dealer in order to keep the warranty valid.

However , since I own an older model with modifications & no warranty ...  I've chosen the private garage option simply because I can get the car serviced with the same parts but it will cost alot less.

What's the general opinion on servicing ???

    Ally.

  6. Hi mate ....... welcome !!!

Is there a particular model/version of classic that your after ????

    There are plenty to choose from ...   UK Turbo's , STI's , Terzo's , Catalunya's , Type R's , RA's , RB5's to name a few.

There are also some modified versions kicking around which could give you a head-start if you plan to go down the BIG power route.

Or keep it standard-ish ..... just depends what you want ?

    Good Luck ,

    Ally.
