The A68 is a good road. The 10 mile stretch from jedburgh up to the carter bar is probably the best bit of it!! Got to watch out for the undercovers and speed cops hiding on the 68 as well....i got caught averaging at 80 a couple of weeks ago. the new system in the volvos(speed cop cars) records and saves only one speeds which was lucky for me as they recorded my speed at over 100 while trying to catch up. oops!!! went up to knockhill today had a good day watching the time attack and looking at all the clean scoobs. on the way back down to the borders, just off the edinburgh bypass, pulled out to pass something pulled fine in 4th reved to 5k went for 5th and nothing but some horrible metal on metal grinding noises. think the bearings have collasped in the turbo!! so returned home on the back of a tow truck! need to decide weather to rebulit the standard turbo or get one from andy forrest!! the lucky thing was it was'nt far from a pub so we drove there at 20mph and had some pints waiting for the brakedown! andy

I bought mine from just exedy clutches as well. top service really quick delivery and free i think. search for just clutch on ebay, they are an offical supplier. you will need a 230mm plate. fit it yourself and save the cash so you can get a stage 1 racing!! Andy

Entry list has now been published for rally scotland. quite disapointed about the lack of irc regulars of the entry. Mcrae in a proton should be interesting tho. http://www.rallyscotland.tv/page.asp?page=competitors

lifted the engine out yesterday and stripped it. a tappet shim had jumped out of place and was hitting off the spring retainer! subaru parts are shut today so can't get any bits! only good point is it's nothing a major, so decided to keep the car. got stainless steel headers sitting in the garage so going to fit them when i put it back together and speak to mr forrest about a new ecu and remap! Andy

I had the heads pressure tested and skimmed at border engines in Berwick when i did the head gasket so they "should" be fine.

fitted new head gasket 6 weeks ago, been running perfect since until last night. took it out for a gid run and it started knocking/tapping. think (hoping) its coming from the head (pass side). now going to have to pull the engine out again and strip it to find out whats wrong. starting to lose faith in the old scoob now!!!! not sure weather to fix and keep it or fix it and sell it and go to the dark side!! only mods done are turbo back decat exhaust, filter and a fuel pump. not had a remap yet (credit crunch n all can't really afford it) could this have damaged the engine in some way?? Andy

Hi does anyone know where i can get gear linkage bushes for my classic? also looking for a up-pipe with a 3 bolt flange, also for a classic. bought a tublar manifold from a friend but the flange to the up-pipe is 3 bolt. came off a smashed car and the up-pipe was squashed so he binned it. does anyone know where i can get an up-pipe? will i need a remap after fitting headers and up-pipe? (already binned the cats and have a filter on) cheers andy

Hi all I'm just about to replace the head gasket on my scoob; does anyone know the torque settings? It’s an EJ20K engine. Also what would be the general recommendation...oe or aftermarket gaskets? Cheers Andy

Hi folks looking for some help! the headgasket is about to go on my car and need so need a full head gasket set for a EJ20K engine. have just emailed lateral performance to see if they can sort me out. I can find plenty for a ej20g engine but not many for mine, can someone recommend somewhere else to try? And because I'm taking the head n belts off thought I would just put on a new timing belt. where can I get a timing belt kit? also need a clutch as it has started slipping. I have been looking at a exedy fast road clutch £293.99 (scooby world) for the kit. Is this clutch any good? not wanting spend much more than £300 on the clutch. any other recommendations? thanks Andy
