  1. I have a 2009 wrx hatchback over the last few weeks engine light has been coming on when it is checked showing up as bank 1 lean car running fine no power drop but the last time idle getting a bit ruff on start up

    Car has a full decat

    Aem intake

    Fuel reg

    Turbo smart dump valve

    Andy Forrest remap

    Thanks

  2. Well car mapped today from Andy forrest very happy car made just over 290bhp and 350lbs torque not bad for full exhuast a intake and fuel reg.

So big thanks to Andy for the the map.

On the down side the black wheels I got not working on the hatch so had to get ones from Ra Motorsport so got a set of 17inch enkei rpf1 in gold they do look nice on car I think a wee bit different.

So thanks to Ra Motorsport big help as always

What to you think of the wheels.

  3. Just a wrx was looking at getting it mapped some time down the road I don't have anything on car right know par a cosworth panel fillter just a wee bit quiet for me looking at exhuast as well don't what one like the looks of the scoobyworld afterburner back box or the Perrin one.

But do like the noise a induction kit makes in the scoobys I had a hyperflow intake in my last one and that was nice.

So does the hatch like these kits without being mapped.

once I get a intake and exhuast then I will get it remapped.

    Cheers

  4. I had the K&N Typhoon on my old hatch.

Made a good sound and Andy F's computer measured 342 and 343 bhp at mapping, along with the PPP kit I already had.

If you read Scooby Net and the GR Forum most people would say go for the AEM kit, this is because it puts the intake deeper into the wing. The K&N kit sits higher up under the bonnet.

If you look under some of my older hatch posts you'll see some pics of the Typhoon installed.

I own a CS400 now which i guess has the cosworth induction kit, although mine is red an I thought the Cosworth one only came in blue. I did think the CS400 maybe had an AEM kit fitted cos it looks really similar, when i go oot to my car later i'll have a poke aboot and see if it's definitely a cosworth kit.

Do you know we're I can get a Aem kit from over here

    Cheers

  5. White? Not the BEST colour - cos dark grey is lol... but I do like the white... and I also like the red... and possibly the blue too :icon_flower:

I like the look of the "slim body" wrx hatch, looks tidy. On some of the American forums folk have got them looking well smart.

Like I said it seems to have just been the STi's that suffer possible engine failure because they're running increased power.

    Good luck with the purchase!

Hopefully get the car this week waiting for garage now

Looking at black wheels for it had black team dynamics on my last one and I do like them.

  6. :D

As far as I know - any issues with hatch engines have been with STi's... and even moreso with the 330s if ye believe the gossip.

Alot of it was down to mapping problems.

If it's the same block in the WRX as the STi - the lower power of the WRX shouldn't pose any problems for the block.

As with any Subaru turbo engine - treating her right, checking the oil regular and nae bouncing the limiter off the redline all the time will help - so will warming up the car before giving it some and also allowing it a wee cool doon after.

    What colour ye thinking of?

Remember and get some pics up if ye buy it... then get yersel along to SIDC at Alford on 8th July :Scottish-flag:
