  1. Both is no problem. You need to get your first lady in line. I mean a PPG gearkit is only the cost of a new kitchen afterall!
  2. That's just the boys just trying to cover themselves from lawsuits (there are a lot of users in the USA!). I've reflashed my ECU hundreds of times using the software without any problems. Happy to give a demo to anyone interested at the next knockhill trackday.
  3. Hi Andy - as well as paying professional tuners, it is possible to remap the new age imprezas (bug eye onwards) using free and open source software called Romraider (previously called Enginuity). It has been developed by fellow enthusiasts all over the world and is as powerful as the software professional tuners use such as Ecutek. Romraider also has an excellent support forum of users who provide advice and share experiences of remapping and tuning using this software. I have used Romraider for 18 months now and with the necessary engine modifications have tuned my car, which is a daily driver, to over 400 bhp (using fuel additives and V-power). If you'd like to know more about ECU remapping on the impreza there is also alot of information on the Romraider site. www.romraider.com
  4. Buffalo - not sure where you are based but if you're near edinburgh this weekend let me know if you are and I'll have a look at your car. It does sound like you are having actuator or boost control circuit problems. I also have diagnostics software called ECUexplorer that can read and reset the subaru diagnostic trouble codes on the new age wrx so we can see if there are any codes associated with your boost solenoid or any other issues with your motor for that matter. I have a spare WRX boost solenoid you can have if it's faulty as it's rattling around my garage at the moment. Cheers Alistair
  5. Is the car still showing a check engine light?
  6. Hi there - I was me in the blue wagon. Here's a link to the footage on you tube. It's on the 3rd lap on the video I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYFql1SvgPw Rather a close call but quite amusing. Just as well my brakes were on form! It was me in the pits that checked the gearbox oil level on your car. Have you tried the gearbox with the oil topped up - is it any better or is 3rd still out of bounds? Cheers Alistair
