About emoe

  1. Got mine from HID direct. Bought the 4300k kit as its very bright and white! also get the H4-3 kit as its the pop up and down light and works best.
  2. DONT steam clean your engine!!! Holy god!! yorue asking for trouble doing that! which is why any reputable company that details cars doesnt steam clean them anymore!! If you want to clean your engine, then elbow grease and time is what you need. Steam cleaning gets into all the switchgear, inside sensors, connectors, between the cable attachments striping the grease and lubrication making them rust and snap, ruins the weatherproofing on the main artery loom connectors, gets into any tiny breather hole and basically leaves you with an engine that will cause you more problems than a nymphomaniac hooker wife!
  3. This is actually a good idea! My brother does the same thing with the plane we use. Its a syndicate system that works pretty well. Youll need to draw up an agreement with all those who invest to agree who keeps the vehicle, where it is stored, booking days for use of the vehicle and also monthly running costs shared between everyone. Maybe SIDC could chip in and have the livery done!
  4. i was going to say that if a BFH doesnt sort out a stuck handbrake shoe then you got problems!!
  5. if you have the car mapped using NF then youll need to continue to use it or have the car remapped back to standard fueling. I had my car mapped before the alochol injection, then added the injection and it made a fair bit of improvement. However i had paul at ZEN remap the car a while back and he done it so the car uses the alcohol and water mix all the time. The response and power is WAY different, but i have to make sure i keep the tank topped up as running it without will make the car go lean. I would say the gains from having it mapped WITH are much more than what you get from mapping without and using it anyway. The downside is the added need to stay topped up. Choice is yours mate.
  6. Theres a couple of minor problems with these kits. First is the bypass is PRE CAT, therefore you are changing the back pressure, and the Lambda reading when you open it, so the possibility of LEAN WOT is much greater. NOT GOOD!! unless you have a switchable map this may cause a melt down if used too much!! When the cat is in place, the gasses are different, so when you open the pipe up the lambda will read different. When you DECAT the car, the ECU and lambda regulate and then are stable. When you open and close this valve the lambda reads differing values all the time and c annot settle. This causes the ECU to regulate the fueling at Injectors quite a bit. The other problem is that as Matt states, the exhaust is right under the car, and that isnt good for both flames and the exhaust fumes, as they will leach into the car from under the body. NOT GOOD!! if i were to advise on one of these, id say manufacture some sort of extra pipework to get the exhaust out to the side or back of the car.
  7. I agree"!! your life is in your hands here. Get a specialist to find out whats happening. You may find its a simple repair or replacement of something. Its just not worht it all coming undone on a run!
  8. No the only LEGAL plates are those on STANDARD WHITE OR YELLOW REFLECTIVE backround, with NO WATERMARKS ETC, the plates must be legal size, with legal font and spacing and the suppliers postal code and telephone number at the bottom, no badges are allowed.
  9. Good report Cusco. Do they not do the drop links for the 08? Glad that its made the car handle better!!
  10. ScoUk, you can adjust the ride height quite a bit, depending on the kit you buy, some have limited adjustment, but most have at least 100mm!! Mine i can drop so the tyres physically will not fit under the arches, all the way up to a silly height, that leaves maybe 7" between top of tyre and wheel arch!! Ride height isnt really the REASON to get coilovers, the real reason is adjustablitiy in spring, dampening and control!!
  11. one problem i see here is the words you used WORKING RECON BOX and CHEAPISH!! they dont go together!! any box that is cheap is cheap for a reason and more than likely is already in need of refurb. You have to make sure you get the box with the same ratio as your rear axle or youll be in serious problems!!
  12. i would have to also Reccomend Paul at ZEN PERFORMANCE. He has done Jimmys 2.5 litre and thats making over 450 horses now!! Spent quite a bit but totally transformed the car!!
  13. Yes mate that is a front entry turbo.
  14. Pre 96 model TD05 were top entry, but very easy to change to front entry. You can either remove the front plenumn yourself, (big circlips) and have the unit machined or buy a replacement front plenumn for about £90 to swap it over. Wouldnt change to TD04 hybrid from a VF35, youll get faster spool but loose grunt. Td04 Hybrid i think is equiv of a VF29.
  15. i cant believe how long that bloke in the car waited before getting out to park that womans car for her!!!
