  1. Gary at Keith Michaels is great, i have both the scoobies insured through them. Really helpful and happy with mods, the comapny they put me with this year even gives you full trackday cover for £60 a day if you want it!!

  2. Admiral(believe it or not!) mod friendly ish, this is the 2nd year I've been with them, just came at 40 odd quid cheaper than last year.As suggested do a search on here...yer mind will be toasted by the time youre finished..best just to pick a few and phone them, everyones circumstance is different anyway :occasion14:

    Col

Col, the reason your insurance was cheaper is that you are an old git!!!

  3. I would like to add my thanks to Gus as well, delivered and fitted air filters and strutbraces for me, all for a cup of tea!!! The man is a star

Anyway, whats the update on project Leggy???

And your right, Colin is way, way beyond help!!!!

P.S. you need to get yourself across here sometime for a shot on these dirt bikes, what a laugh, carol has learnt how to get air, i have created a monster!!!. However, i am getting old, my bones ache this morning.

  4. Gus, sorry to hear the forrester has had to go, i was looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

However, you know i like the leggy, the GTB we have is a great car to drive, really, really comfy on a long drive plus a superb tow car. Mines towing this weekend, wait til you see what on the trailer, i will send you a picture!!

On thing, dont go shopping with the leggy, it can carry so much stuff!!! Everytime ours is a Makro i spend a fortune, if i take the STI its loads cheaper!!!

Either that or i could just leave the missus at home??

  5. Great day guys, and i was going to be Santa, I promise!! However I think Scott really wanted to wear the kit, it was just the perfect size for him.

Nice to support the local hospital as well, i think it was appreciated by all involved.

Plus, quick note to those that grabbed some food afterwards, on the way home i saw the pink convertible we were talking about, there was a bloke driving it!!! I think i would rather walk.

    Hopefully see you all soon

    Steve

  6. Sorry to pester, but do we have a battle plan as yet??

Just because i am away until friday night with work (well, second christmas night out this week actually) and I am supposed to be Santa!!

How about this one for a crazy night out, flew to london yesterday afternoon, back this morning all for.....

    A posh curry!!! :o

And you know what, it was rubbish!! ;) So, Spooks, i am looking forward to some good scran on sunday!!!

    Cheers

    Steve

  7. As we all know, the standard sound system with the Impreza is utter mince to say the least.

Mince isnt even the start of it, its the worst i have ever heard!! It would be better with some cash off and nothing fitted than the rubbish thats there!!

Anyway, after my rant, i have changed the whole system in my STI, went a bit over the top as well but the results are good. I did however keep the old head unit which is actually a Kenwood unit, and I thought i would try and put the head unit in the Leggy GTB i got and guess what, its sounds fine!! Plus when you see the speakers in the STI you will wonder how Subaru managed to actually buy such cheap speakers, they are just no right.

So unless you want to spend a packet i would upgrade your speakers and i think you will see a huge differance.

  8. Hi mate

My leggy is a GTB GF-BH5, 99 model. The reg doc says 98 but its the newer 99 model i think by the headlights.

Love it to bits, it was the additional second car to a 07 STI that we bought this year so a nice complement. Took the two of them to the shell garage the other day, i think we emptyed their supply of V-Power!!

How long have you had yours, do you know much about them?? I dont have a manual or anything to help with working on the car and it would be good to have a chat sometime if you have the time.

PM me some pictures of yours, i'll send some back

    Steve

  9. Steve certainly has the build  and he has a passion for getting rigged oot in dodgy gear.

Count me in for the Sunday

I think i am getting dug into a corner here!!

I think i might get arrested driving the STI with the santa suit on.

Ok, what is involved in the santa bit, just looking an ass and giving out the presents?? Who would be my elf's??

Can i wear it to the meal afterwards???

  10. Hi all

I am going to give my Legacy GTB a service on Saturday, since i have no manual and its the first scooby i have changed the oil on i have two questions

1- what oil should i use and how much will it take?

2- Is there anything special i should do with an oil change on a scooby engine compared to a normal car?

More than happy doing the work, just thought i would check with the experts!!

  11. I have ones from the states on my 07 STI, they are superb and when the guys fitted them (on when the car was brand new from Nobles) they said they were some of the best they had seen.

They are really strong and look great, well i think so :(

The picture below is up the cairn o'mount, gravel and muck flying everywhere and not up the side of the car. I have been in and out of my mates farm (very dirty and covered in cow muck!!) and the flaps get covered but the car stays clean!!

  12. Just thought i would drop in a picture of my two scoobies after a wash!!

I bought Wilky's Legacy GTB last month, as the peugeot 306 we had a second car just didnt feel right after the STI!!

The car has been to London twice since for work, drives great with only a dodgy Lamba sensor raising its ugly head once in a while.

Mind you, the local Shell gargae loves me now!!!

P.S. the 306 is up for sale if anyone wants a wee run about

  13. I am doing my old Leggy GTB next weekend, my mate has a two post ramp and a converted fire extinguisher (dont ask!!) You fill it with black waxoyl, heat it in boiling water, bang the airline on, pressurise it and off you go!!! i can ask him if we can manage another if you want, its a favour for me anyway. It would need to be next weekend though, would that work for you??
