Engine has just went on classic 95 WRX looks like oil pump went followed by the main crankshaft bearings. Fortunatly i had just sold it 5 minutes before hand. However the guy i sold it to is a bit miffed to say the least. On e-bay and the likes you can get engines for EJ20 92-95 for about £650 with six months guarentee but is there anything i need to be aware off. Like will there be any mods required any potential pitfalls i need to be aware of. PS only sold it on cause i bought a new 2.5 STI Type D and its magic..

You can remove a speaker from the rear shelf and get in to unlock the boot by opening the lock. The small hole directly above the lock can has a lever which if you move unlocks the boot.

You quite clearly know your stuff!! Whilst i can not even read.[:$] Its an N plate i just checked out the seat belts and they have 11 / 1995 written on both front belt labels. So you reckon this would be a fair judge of when manufactured? Does this make it a version 2? or is it still a 3? There is a sticker on the bonnet in Japanese that refers to S3. Try squirting in some penetrating fluid like 5 in 1 this is normally really good at freeing of the gunk inside the lock which after a while of soaking andd working should free it off.

How do you know it is a version 2? Whats the major differances?

Yip that was the first thing to go pop! Made it 400miles from Kent to Glasgow before it went. Got a new radiator today from Dacars (Allys) for £85 which i thought was quite good . Will get it fitted in teh morning ready for the weekend []

Hi all. I'm new to the forum and scooby-doos so big hello to you all. [] Just bought my first scooby don't quite know what it is! WRX type3 registered on a P plate imported 94-96 perhaps? Bought on E-bay impulse buy.. Wife still squeezing my cubes!!!!! It has a big 3" decat full system, twin fans on radiator, set of three gauges in centre console volts, boost and oil temp. Is there any way to definatly say what it is? looking for oppinions on logical and sensable performance upgrades that should be done and in which order? Any help much appreciated.
