About The Big Zapper

  1. A friend has some garages in Rainham for rent, I think they are just off they high street. They are only single door affairs though.
  2. It should be fine afterall its just a type of wax, just make sure that the paintwork is really really clean before its put on and that the installer is decent as the swirls are a nightmare to remove. I've had it on my since it was new and it makes it really easy to clean and it looks pretty darn good.
  3. Does the 7200 link straight to an Ipod? If it does does it allow for direct searching or do you have to sort the songs out into Playlists before it allows you to search and select them?
  4. Nice install, which head unit is that by the way as its Ipod interface looks loads better than my DDX 6029.
  5. After 5 hours (and some sore fingers) I finally finished replacing all my speakers and what a difference, not only are they much louder but the sound is no longer flat and muffled. Though I now hate dynomat after it gave me no end of trouble after it wouldn't take to the inside of the door.
  6. Can't make this months one (working late yet again[:@]) but maybe the next one, I can get some pics up if you want some though. Let me know if there anything specific you want.
  7. Its very good, obviously the sound is much better than the standard HU and as standard its got all that you want. The only downside is the less than spectacular user interface which looks a bit dull as you can't change the colours only the background wallpaper (you have a choice of three I think) and the IPOD connection is not the best as selecting individual songs is not easy. Other than that its very good, though one word of warning don't forget to earth or connect the Handbrake cable otherwise it won't show DVDs, otherwise like me you'll end up taking it out again to connect it[:@]
  8. I'm attempting to upgrade the quality of my stereo in my WRX, but I'm looking for a little bit of advice from the wiser members here. I've already done the headunit (Replaced the standard one with a Kenwood DDX-6029) and since I enjoyed it I looking at doing the speakers myself. I've settled on getting some 6510CS for the front and some 5012is for the rear with the IAP adaptor kit (I wussed out of the mdf route) but have some questions that I can't find answers to, so any help is welcomed. Do the 5012is need any adaptors to connect them to the standard wiring in the rear? In the front will I have to strip off the existing connector to allow for the new crossovers to go in? Should double sided tape be enough to mount and hold the tweeters and the crossover in the doors? Whats the best speaker wire to use (I've got myself confused with all the different types)? Is any extra waterproofing needed for any of the components? Sorry for the (more than likely) stupid questions but I don't fancy driving down to halfords with half the door panels off when I find out that I'm missing a vital piece.
  9. I've just had my first service (the 12 month one) done at Waldonway, little pricey but a very good service (they were expecting me and they did the car in the time they said they would) so I can't complain. I did try Lifestyle at Tunbridge Wells but since they couldn't even find a reference on the computer for my lowly WRX 300 even though its an approved UK Subaru car so couldn't quote for a service did not inspire me with confidence and since Lifestyle Ford is utterly hopeless I would avoid them to be honest.
  10. He will post to AMERICA!!!!!!! Looks like the ******* son of Hanibal Lector and Darth Vader, only without any of the coolness or sinister.
  11. Just thought I'd pop in to say hi. I have had my WRX 300 for just over a year and can be seen around the West Kent area.
  12. Has anyone used Lifestyle Subaru yet? Fox's who were my local have gone obivously and my first annual service is coming up and I wasn't impressed with Lifestyle Ford in Tonbridge when I had my Focus. Any experiences?
