  4. Got an idea on ebay but what shall i choose Crystal repeaters with silver bulbs or black for the black scoob [] http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-Impreza-94-01...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-Impreza-94-01...1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. Shame, i was going to do a surprise turn up [H] Where's rednick anyway?
  6. Just spoke to a valeting friend, he says all well and good but with teflon you need a 100% pure and clean surface because any impurities will get bonded along with the teflon plus if you change your mind and wish to use something else it has to be completely taken off otherwise any other kind of wax or polish wont bond to the paint surface For ease of use and protection a good quality wax is just the same, the only reason mine took 5 hours was me taking my time, it's a new car so some surface blemishes needed attending to not to mention very few cars are polished correctly anyway If you believe in your product that much go to detailing world and ask their opinion, it will be just as unbiased as mine is Next wash and polish will be more like 30 minutes to an hour tops Poorboys super suds&wax Meguiars crystal polish Turtle wax top gloss sealant Collinite 915 marque d'elegance wax And scratch x to take off some marring that the machine polisher previously left
  7. I have just been on detailing world and from what i could gather teflon is a very brittle coating one scratch and it falls to bits, most say use nattys blue or collinite 915 waxes which is what i use and is excellent for that deep wet look, if you want to see ive done a thread with pics just below this thread
  8. Haha, yeah a crystal pack is on the cards rest assured along with a better set of wheels i just have other priorities atm [] Edit: quick chop of some wheels i fancy
  9. Well here's the scooby after a 5 hour polish hope you like
  10. Yeah like most sh cars they need some form of work doing shame removing the deflectors damaged the paint but once polished up it's barely noticeable it will need doing again at some point though It has a gorgeous red pearl fleck in the paintwork which you can see when you catch it right, my friend who is a valeter can't wait to get his mits with some colinite and some g10 on the painwork I touch goats btw []
  11. Yeah, she needs tidying in one or two areas like a proper pod for the boost guage and the front washers aren't working so a new pump will be needed, oh and those wheels definitley need to go along with a cat1 being fitted next week How do i tell what turbo she has anyway? she does pull strong and hard with not a lot of lag , id be polishing her right up asap as bar a couple of scratches she really is in good nick []
  12. Well after that post i did a couple weeks back ive gone and bought myself this little jdm beauty and im the first uk owner [] http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA-WRX-T...1QQcmdZViewItem But one question i take it she'll be the version with the twin scroll vf34 turbo? the fools put adsa fuel in her luckily she hasn't done any mileage so in went the millers cvf turbo and i headed for the nearest shell for some vpower after that she just got better and better once the ecu adapted to it [] I suspect this car has the tein ht gymkhana dampers as she's a tad hard but ohh boy can she corner!!
  13. Yeah i know of aj but im fussy when it comes to my ahem 'tuners' and therefore makes me very picky [] Shame i can't keep the 309 she kicked out about 220hp and upset god knows how many people but the reliability of late has been a joke so i need something fun and there's no point having a fun car if it doesn't stay on the road long enough to enjoy the thing [H] What exhaust is good anyway i was thinking of a scoobysport but then got a lot of conflicting advice...same saying i'll need a remap if i fit a decat or a decat will make it fail emissions etc hmm Thanks for the welcome anyway it's always appreciated, and louise that avatar.....umm nope im at a loss []
  14. Thanks jacqui, i spoke to nick and asked a bit about scoobs in general and i feel the best thing would be to wait for a meet to kick off once christmas is out of the way and have a nose and see just what is possible with these little cars, being the technical minded bod that i am im sure it won't be too long before im fiddling with various components [] I have already looked at a scoobysport exhaust/downpipe and turbo exhaust pipe and i haven't even got the thing yet!! [:$] So anyways, have yourself a merry little christmas and im sure i'll be flying past in next to no time []
  15. Hi there, the names darren and i 'did' drive a gorgeous miami blue 309gti however the pison rings have gone and ive about had enough of pugs so a scoob would be a good progression and i'll soon be in the market to get one But what id like to know are the potential faults, like say heat damage from the siamesed oil galleries between cylinders 3/4 or gerbox problems especially with 2nd gear, just anything subaru specific i should watch out for when buying one Are they good fun and reasonable on parts and general running? Also what year would be best maybe inbetween 94-98 or maybe a jdm model or even sri ra perhaps? Sorry for all the questions but this is a will be a totally strange car to me and i like to have all the bases covered Names darren btw, ive spent years under bonnets of various cars so a scoob shouldnt take me too long to get to grips with [] Oh and im from redruth, sorry but i had to mention where i lived []
