I got one and I wouldn't pay £250 quid to go to England and drive a Subaru when I already have one?? Even if it is brand new
-
I would check the connections first then the bulb again to make sure that the filliment hasn't blown on the new one, if their ok check for voltage at the connection plug, you can get a cheap tester for a few quid from a car accessory shop, if theres no voltage pull the correct fuse from the box and check for voltage there, the problem will lie somewhere down the line.

Thanks buddy, pity there wasn't a few miles of B road ahead we could have had some fun!

Think that was me mate (dark blue classis sti spoiler and 18" wheels), just came off motorway onto backroad and there was a car going very slowly in front of me, one of my favourite s bends was coming up so I overtook it, saw a blue Hawkeye behind me, presume that was you.

You can buy a seal kit from a main dealer for around £25.00 for both front calipers, I bought one due to binding brakes but havent got round to fitting them yet. I'll write a post on how to do it and the outcome when i do in the near future

V-max events in Scotland? - DOES ANYONE HAVE A RUNWAY!?!?!
AVI_8 replied to st3ph3n's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Not only is it maintained but it is also a licensed aerodrome just like Glasgow and Edinburgh and has scheduled flights therefore unfortunatelly it would be unlikely to close to allow cars to race down the runway. -
Used to do that sort of speeds on a backroad 10 years ago, at the time I was in my early twenties and drove a modified Cosworth, self preservation takes a little more precedence nowadays though. You might be an excellent driver but its the unknown which could kill you

I always park in a disabled space, I was sick and tired of getting my door dented and I dont have a guilty conscience at all. Its not our fault the other parking spaces are too small for the stupid women parking next to us, who then opens her door causing a dent which costs £50 to have removed

Try this website www.pepipoo.com If the police didn't follow guidelines to the letter it may be possible to get off on a legal technicality, e.g. was it a gatso or a speed gun, if it was a speed gun his lawer should request in court to see the calibration certificate (i think they need to be calibrated daily), if they cant produce this then that would be grounds for the case to be thrown out, unless he admitted it at the time. He'll need a lawer specialising in motoring convictions though, and they wont come cheap.

Sh1t I'll make sure I drop her off further down the road next time

A few years ago a taxi driver crossed onto my side of the road to avoid a large puddle, he said he didnt see me coming the other way but to cut a long story short we had quite a nasty head on collision because of it I ended up in hospital with a broken sternum, it was the most painful thing i've ever experienced and could barely move for a month. My sternum broke because the seat belt obviously only goes over one shoulder causing the body to flex under a high G impact. A harness would have prevented this. In a bad roll over accident where the roof completely collapses a harness may cause your death by preventing you from getting out of its way but will offer far more protection in a high G impact which is a lot more likely than a rollover, unless your rallying bt then youll have a rollcage anyway

An import STI for the price of a UK WRX Too right I'm planning on getting one next spring

They both look tacky and OTT and waste a car which only needs an sti spoiler / scoop and possibly a set of alloys to make it look its best

Well my Subaru is 6 years old now and doesnt have any rust and I think thats the norm so who needs a paint warranty nowadays.

Help guys...... trading my Alfa for a Scobby and need help!!!!
AVI_8 replied to SCR4PPY's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Its quite tempting when looking for a car to buy the first one you see that looks straight and in not bad condition, especially as murphys law dictates that when the time comes when your looking for one, there are usually fewer locally to choose from. Thats the position I found myself in last year when I was looking for my first Scoob, i spent nearly 2 months looking before finding a standard one, 5 year old classic (except for PPP which was fitted when new) in very good condition and only 54,000 on the clock. I'm not saying that the one with 110,000 on the clock will be a bad car but it might not be so easy to sell in 2-3 years time with 150,000 on the clock. Look on the autotrader website and increase the search distance, if you click on national you'll see that there are hundreds for sale I got mine locally from a website called www.pistonheads .com Happy hunting
