dazzlers82 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 if so are they any good as thinkin of buyin http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza-WRX-S...5QQcmdZViewItem
granby Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Don't buy these cheap headers as they are prone to cracking I would go for a set of ported headers by Harvey Smith http://www.geocities.com/harveysmith3000/portedheaders.html , I have these and they improve spool up of the turbo by about 500rpm and increase torque []
dazzlers82 Posted May 16, 2007 Author Posted May 16, 2007 were did you get an how much cos link has no info of price etc
granby Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 were did you get an how much cos link has no info of price etc You have to email him, email address is on this site http://www.geocities.com/harveysmith3000/ [Y] Mine were about £300 but that included wrapping & fitting
dazzlers82 Posted May 16, 2007 Author Posted May 16, 2007 well thats well cheap if fitted an wrapped as well does it sound much differnet an there not equal length are they
granby Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 No difference in sound as they are still the standard unequal length headers but improved, i did go upto Darlington though to get them fitted but he does do them on exchange so you could have them fitted and then send your old ones back to him [H]
dazzlers82 Posted May 16, 2007 Author Posted May 16, 2007 ye i would do myself any way so i would have to send back
vickyk Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 I want to have this done on my car too. We had a look on Scoobynet and theres a few people advertising that they can do it. We was quoted 125 quid just to have the headers done (was 150 quid to have the up pipe done aswell) both those prices included wrapping and heat spraying. I did email him and ask him if he could send me some pictures of the work he had done but he didnt have any, he said the next time he does one he will take some picture of the actual work he does so we can see if it is any good. His was on an exchange basis or you could send yours up to him to do. Vicky
granby Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Not really much for you to see from pics, he opens up the ports slightly to match the gaskets and smooths the flow for the exhaust gases but it does make a worthwhile difference, Harvey also advised me against heat spraying them as it makes the wrapping slightly brittle, you can just about see the wrapping on my car if you want a peak [], it's also worthwhile wrapping the downpipe as well if you can [Y]
vickyk Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 We didnt know if the guy was doing them slightly cheaper than others because he did a poo job, thats why we asked to see the work he had done. He did have some pics but mainly of the wrapping. We will be wrapping our downpipe when we take it off again to have the headers done and modifying the turbo heat sheald to put back on too.
