granby Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Well after a lot of trying this morning i've managed to get tickets to see Prince live in concert at the O2 (the Dome) in August [], i was hoping to get tickets for my birthday on the 4th August but they sold out virtually straight away but they are adding extra dates as the other dates sell out so now i'm gonna see the purple one on the 28th August ps....glad i don't have to drive there though as they want £20 for parking []
kaan_ors Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I hope you've got seats near the stage as I've heard that he is only 3 feet 2 tall and uses action men as stunt doubles! [Z] <-- Actual Size!

baser999 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Apparently he played a closed concert on Thursday for industry people - did you catch any of the djs reviewing it Ian?
granby Posted May 12, 2007 Author Posted May 12, 2007 Apparently he played a closed concert on Thursday for industry people - did you catch any of the djs reviewing it Ian? Nope, bet that was a good gig though
baser999 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Apparently he played a closed concert on Thursday for industry people - did you catch any of the djs reviewing it Ian? Nope, bet that was a good gig though Although they all enjoyed it. they generally seemed disappointed that the 2007 tour is being heralded as his last UK gigs yet in a 2 hour show he played only 4 of his better know hits - no 1999, no Purple Rain, no Doves Cry etc Perhaps it'll have changed by the time the Dome comes along.

Thats strange, but as you say perhaps he will change it by that time []
baser999 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 It'll no doubt still be a good show..........saw the Stones at Twickenham last year and they were absolutely awesome. Think Feeder were the support act and the Stones just blew them away.....no comparison.
granby Posted May 12, 2007 Author Posted May 12, 2007 My dad wanted to see the Stones at the dome but they were asking silly money, £120 the cheapest i think [N] at least the Prince gigs are sensibly priced

Joking aside, I saw The Who at Hyde Park last year - they were [H]. Oldies ARE the GOLDIES!

granby Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 You can park in the North Greenwich NCP even closer to the dome for £6 I did one better than that, got a bus from just down the road straight to the dome, cost me nothing
fattb Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I did one better than that, got a bus from just down the road straight to the dome, cost me nothing Ah i know where that is
granby Posted August 29, 2007 Author Posted August 29, 2007 (edited) It was a good show, he played nearly 2 hours but still had to do a medley of a lot of his hits which sort of spoilt it a bit, entertainment wise he certainly knows how to put on a show and his band were brilliant and as for the twin female dancers As for the aftershow party well by ears are still recovering now, if you think of a building about the size of a large village hall but with the sound system of a concert hall you get the rough idea, he did just over a hour show and showed some amazing guitar playing All in all it was a good night out, only managed to get 1 photo as you weren't allowed to take photos (you can see the stage was in the shape of his symbol) Edited August 29, 2007 by Granby
