jim dbm Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 on the advice of andy f bought the y piece turbo to intercooler hose today as andy said the standard one is really restrictive. also going to de snorkel the airbox and remove the resonator and fit the whiteline alloy droplinks i got last week. once u start with these cars its hard knowing when to stop. remap was last week and im already toying with the idea of a andy f hybrid td04 for more power .
Richie Cross Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 How is the car after the remap? Does it make any difference replacing the y piece after the remap? Was speaking to Greers and they outlined the best plan for me....ie...new filter, free flow exhaust (down pipe) and then get it into Andy F within the week. Guess I'll save up and see if I can get it all done at the same time.
jim dbm Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 the car is much quicker after the remap, pulls much harder in every gear and all the way over 6000rpm its still pulling where as before it would be running out of puff much earlier. andy said with the samco y piece and the airbox ill see another 10bhp for peanuts, so its being done this week, the man knows his stuff. the car now feels how it should come from the factory and plenty quick enough, for now........ andy also compared the in gear acceleration figures on my car with a 2002 sti he mapped earlier the same day which was pushing out 350bhp after the map, nothing in it, like 0.1 secs in most gears, as andy said thats where the classics come into their own with the power to weight advantage.
Richie Cross Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Excellent! Makes me want to do it sooner rather than later and I've only had my car a few weeks! Must get saving!!!!
