jim dbm Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 finally got round to getting my 99 classic remapped yesterday with ecutek by andy forrest, car has full decat, ported headers, magnex up pipe and panel filter, andy downloaded the map on the car then we went out for drive so he could fine tune it and i was very impressed with the transformation, pulls so much harder in every gear all the way to 6500 rpm when before it would run out of puff well before then. andy recommended i fit a samco y piece hose and also de snorkel the airbox and blank the hole and remove the front wheel and splash guard to remove the thing that protects the airbox from water but restricts airflow so already ordered the blanking plate from subaru and ordered the samco y piece to free up a few more ponies.
cullenmin Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Thats good news mate, so whats the predicted BHP and torque then? And just out of interest, where have you ordered the samco y hose from? Rich
jim dbm Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 andy said 265 and 255 torque iirc estimate, though it feels very quick, he showed me my power graph and accelaration figures on the laptop compared to the 2002 sti that he mapped the same day that was pushing out 350 after map, in gear accelaration figures all within 0.1 secs with mine quicker in some, thats where the light weight of the classic comes into its own. ordered the samco hose from falkland who ordered it direct from samco as i didnt want the whole boost kit just the y piece. anyone on here done the snorkel/resonator removal on the airbox on the classic, andy said its a worthwhile mod.
cullenmin Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Ive just recently removed the snorkel, you hear it sooking more on half boost, but the exhaust drowns that out on full boost. Whats this resonator your speaking about? Rich
mazheriqbal_mohammed Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Our boy Andy F never fails to to work wonders on scoobs!! [] About the resonator box removal was wanting to do this to my scoob at some point as i already have the IC hoses in place. I remember a while back someone posted a 'how to' about this up and i still had the link kicking about http://www.scoobytuner.com/tuning/?tSfID1=19&tuningID=9 Hope it helps! []
