ghost101 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Hi i am kinda stuck and was wondering if anyone can help. I have a '98 version 4 type R and am trying to find somewhere that supplies decent front mount intercooler kits can anyone help me as i've had no luck so far [:'(] and i'm starting to get impatient lol!
heazille Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Welcome to the club[] Not sure myself but no doubt someone will be on soon and help, probably DaveK if he ever gets away from work!! Where abouts are you on the rock? If you 'e' mail me at prouse@manx.net i will add you to my mailing list for the Manx Sidc meets. And keep july 18th > 24th free if possible for the Manx Scoobyfest[] Ta Ta Richard
cupradave Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Hello & welcome to the SIDC forums and the Isle of Man section [Y] What is your buget for your front mount? There are loads out there from a few dodgy ones on Ebay to the full on proper Jap made ones like HKS the ones, just really depends on how much you wanna spend on it.
ghost101 Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 Hi thanks for the welcome [] havent really got a budget until I know how much one is. i dont want anything cheap or dodgy though you only pay for it in the long run! its just trying to find someone who actually can get me one and shipped to the Island. the other option is to find someone on the mainland to source and fit one for me which wouldn't be a problem . good excuse for a road trip if you ask me!!!
ghost101 Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 I am a happy bunny now managed to track down a supplier of hks front mount intercolers in England today prices aren't too bad either!
dazleggy Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Hi ghost dude, what car you got and whereabouts in castletown are ya, im in ballalough, you may well have seen my gt4 hissing around, and the other half has a nice 2000 silver classic burbling around too []
pobiom Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 If your after a cheap FMIC i know a guy that can do a Autobahn88 with all the fittings needed for £260 delivered to the island. Let me know at mrobinson2@kpmg.co.im if you interested. HKS is bound to be better, but depends on your budget.
ghost101 Posted April 20, 2007 Author Posted April 20, 2007 Nice [H] what colours ya gt4? ive probably seen you driving about b4 but will keep an eye out for ya in future. live out at pooil vaaish just off fishers hill. I've got a '98 V4 type R in white will try and get some pictures posted up in the next day or so if i get chance to do so. []
Cret Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 I wouldn't spend the money on the likes of an HKS one unless you have money to burn as whilst they obviously are good, you pay a lot for the name! I bought a Hybrid one on Ebay quite some time ago and it has been superb and a fraction of the price. There are tons of people happy with them. Just got a nice Apexi ball bearing turbo too ready for the legacy rebuild..... []
ghost101 Posted April 21, 2007 Author Posted April 21, 2007 cool should make a bit of a difference!!! am gonna look into this a lot more because a few people i've spoken to now on and off the forums have recomended cheaper intercoolers to me and like the majority of people i dont have endless amounts of money to burn am gonna have a good think over the next couple of weeks i've looked at the autobahn88 one's on ebay is yours similar to that one? ghost101 Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 Well took the plunge this weekend and started spendin money on bits for the scooby. [] should be like christmas all over again at the end of this week. not wanting to wish my life away but roll on friday and santa in his city link van. and some more sunshine!!! pesky manx mist!!!
Manx minx Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Welcome ghost 101, now comes the fun and fortune. No doubt I have seen you around too, my hubby and I both have our forum names on the rear passenger windows of our cars. Give us a wave or a flash[] if you spot us so we will recognise you. Nix[]
ghost101 Posted April 25, 2007 Author Posted April 25, 2007 ok will do. was gonna post a couple of pics of my car up so people would recognise me but haven't figured out how to do it yet [:$] will keep an eye out for ya when im out and about though. and if not will no doubt see everyone at the next meet. []
ghost101 Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Well my new bits arrived on thursday afternoon so had a busy weekend getting them all fitted! This weekend fitted a complete exhaust system (hayward & scott) uprated fuel pump, HKS induction kit, and baileys BOV, also complete service done as well. Checked the brakes and they need replacing pretty soon especially the back ones as their getting to be none existant!! so looks like the headers and front mount will have to wait a bit longer than I hoped [:'(] oh well could be worse at least I've got my new wheels to look forwards too next week [] will post some pictures of the mods in the week for anyone interested.
ghost101 Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 Will do soon as the weathers decent enough and i remember to buy new batteries for the camera! Just ordered the brakes so they should be here by next week with a bit of luck!!! []
