STi_Bandit Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Appears to be alot out there want to get a good quality one for wrapping the down pipe, have seen a kit from thermotec that includes wrap, ties and a turbo wrap was wondering if it was a good product. Also would it be advised to apply a spray sealant as well to the wrap. CHeers Bandito
wrxmania Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 Speak to Russel AKA WUZ as he has a special liquid he puts on it - I don't think its' urine [] []
WUZ Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Spray it with HT spray paint after as that can stop the water soaking into the wrap and have the exhaust smelling like a wet dog......................unless you like that sort of thing! If money is no option, I've found a place up here that can do Ceramic Coating on the exhaust, etc? Russell
harvey_smith Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Having tried many brands of exhaust wrap, I have settled on DEI which I buy in frequent batches of ten rolls, 50' X 2". It is not the cheapest but is economical to use. It has a stitching down the side which makes judging the overlap easy and consistent. It is applied damp, not wet. I stopped spraying the wrap because I found it made the wrap brittle after a lot of heat recycling and was then prone to flaking.
