ROAR Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Any Ideas why when i do an oil and oil filter change my car runs like crap i fill the filter right to the top, make sure all the air is out run it up and the bugger hesitates on acceleration i've tried to do an ecu reset but still no joy
Guest leebo77 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Not sure if it helps but it's always worth disconnecting the sensor and turning the engine over on the starter motor to ensure that the oil has reached all parts of the engine, then reattaching the sensor and firing up. Not sure if this'll help heistation on acceleration tho. [:^)]
Baz69birds Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Have you put the CORRECT OIL in?? go to a GARAGE just to be safe!!!!
ROAR Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 thanks for your suggestions The oil in it is Castrol GTX Magnatec 10W40 as recommended by Dave at Gatwick Subaru it has also an oem filter it hesitated like this for about a week or so when i last done the oil change and then it cleared itself
Guest leebo77 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Dumb question I know, but you haven't overfilled it have you?
Pele Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 When you re set the ECU it resetseverything it takes a while for the ECU to relearn all your mods etc, hence the while it checks everything.

When I fitted a new battery a while ago the tick over went a bit t*ts-up for a few days but then cleared itself, which someone on here put down to the ecu resetting itself.
