BLUE V LTD Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Last week i decided to treat myself to a car radio, as my last one i've had for over 6 years. So off to halfords i go to see what they had on offer. After some time of looking and talking to the young man who was of little help. walked out of the store with new radio/dvd player with 7inch screen. Happy with my purchase i went home and started to take the dash apart. Just over two hours later dash all back everything all up and running and looking sweet. So on Sunday the sun was out the car was looking all shiny, we decided to go out for the day ended up at Hastings, it was a nice gentle drive down my son sitting in the back waching a film all nice and quiet all you could hear was the rumble from the tail pipe of the car. It was a nice day out destressing from the weeks work and spending some time with my girlfriend and son. Well after 3 hours we make a move home once again nice gentle drive home. We get to the top of Bluebell hill (A299) and come of all the roundabouts on to the M2 Dover bound for the last stretch home, well the motorway was empty so i thought i'd stretch the cars legs should we say.............. a very short while later we are coming off at jct4 gillingham turn off and head towards my girlfriends house. Couple of hours later my son and i head home, jump the the car start the old girl up "WHAT" was that...... was that a knock i heard on the way home i'm listening for this rattle there it was again its not sounding good we get home the car is looking and sounding sick for its self......... It was all my fault you see. The day before i had a little knock on the front bumper in a car park in Chatham. So the old girl had its revenge on sunday and sitting its oil pump out. It's now friday and the meet's tonight, Deano has just looked at the car and tell's me the old girl is not well enough to go out and play with all the other scoobys, as her bottom end has gone...... Thats it i've killed the old girl her heart has given up the ghost and i'm a murderer my son cries out.... [:'(] Does any body know where i can get a bottom end rebuild and an oil pump upgrade from loacl to medway area? As the old girl needs a new heart................................
granby Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Sorry to hear of your bad news [] don't know of any engine builders in the medway area but i'm sure someone will be able to help, just a idea but it might be cheaper to get a second hand engine and do a straight swap
dazzlers82 Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 i no maybe slightly dearer but how about gettin a short engine an using ur heads etc just an idea.
BLUE V LTD Posted March 17, 2007 Author Posted March 17, 2007 Had not thought of this opition. Had thought of getting a second hand one. But as Deano said if i get it fixed at least i know the bottom end is new. Don't know yet what sort of price a rebuild is going to be. spoken to a cuple of people and don't want to know as its an import and a subaru. [][:'(]

granby Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 No problem but you don't need a uprated pump but a modified pump which the above companys sell [] Also could you remove the smiley central links as they are not allowed on this forum and have known adware & spyware problems [Y]

BLUE V LTD Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 More news, i have phoned most engine rebuilders and got much the same answer " it all depends on what model engine you have ". Does anybody know where or how to find out the answer. Is it on the vin plate? is it the first 4 digits of the engine number ( EJ20 ). Plus would anyone buy an engine of Ebay? If anyone could help with any info. Just want the old girl back on the road fed up with the works van.
