baser999 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Have seen that X999BAS is available albeit for £499 although that seems to be very much the going rate - this would retain a prefix appropriate to the cars year of registration and is fairly well in keeping with my site name. I accept that if I left the ambulance service or changed my site name its not gonna be as relevant but hey cross that bridge when we come to it .There are a lot of other BAS registrations available but none of them seem as appropriate or are very expensive! Would welcome any positive thoughts on this - thanks. Well thats it then - gone ahead and bought it [] .............................can't afford to go out now lol
Baz69birds Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 try the DVLA registration site.. & see what they got. you type in the reg you would like or letters/ numbers.. & they tell you what they got. & all transfer details/moneys are included. http://www.dvla-som.co.uk/home/

Baz69birds Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 As just edited my last post, i thought i would re-post.. http://www.dvla-som.co.uk/home/
Guest leebo77 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Chances are, even if you did change jobs, you're site name would remain the same. I use my username on other sites (SN / Photobucket / RB320OC / etc) and my plate is much like my username. If you get one that does not mean anything to the car, you just transfer it from car to car too when you change motors. As Baz said - DVLA are pretty good.
pinky-lad Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 some well cheep ones here m8 hope it helps http://www.personallyyours.co.uk/search_fr...;Search1=SEARCH cheers craigy
Baz69birds Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 some well cheep ones here m8 hope it helps http://www.personallyyours.co.uk/search_fr...;Search1=SEARCH cheers craigy Do they include the transfer fees etc.... like DVLA does??
pinky-lad Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 not sure but even if they dont some of them are still cheaper
Dalthegooner Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Go for it Barry. Thats a great plate IMHO [H]
baser999 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Thanks guys and gals for the input. I'd previously looked at Createyourplate and personallyyours who quote net prices so by the time you add on vat and the Dvla fees you're talking £566 as against the Dvla price that I was originally looking at of £499 all in. V999BAS is cheaper at £399 but then its making the car look a bit older - think I'd rather go with the X prefix which is correct for the cars age and imho it looks better as a number. Will give it some further thought.....not sure if it's 'personalised' enough to warrant the £499 outlay ? although it does tie in nicely with my username..........shall I, shan't I.....decisions decisions.
pinky-lad Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 i paid 579 all in for mine and i love it lol do it
daniel Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Go for it mate you will always be baser999 to me no matter what job you do[]
baser999 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 Damn damn damn................you were all meant to say no! no! no! and save me from the expense. Now lets see if I can prise open my wallet far enough to get a card out or think about dusting off the ol'cheque book or ......................watch this space. Oh look I'm even nearer to being a 2k *hore lol
Montythegod Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 go for what ever plate you want.... people get mine confused as a 96 when its a 98. But when I have the same plate on a newer car then it will stand out ! look at the cheaper Irish 3 letter 4 number plates there used to be loads of baz ones ! and i seen em for 99 quid and they are yearless.
