darren_bray Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I have just been on detailing world and from what i could gather teflon is a very brittle coating one scratch and it falls to bits, most say use nattys blue or collinite 915 waxes which is what i use and is excellent for that deep wet look, if you want to see ive done a thread with pics just below this thread
cusco kid Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 I will apologise in advance if i am going to upset you////// Hi m8 this is a polish for your normal subaru driver who wants a quick ,not 5 hours slogging away detailing as you call it A finish that lasts a wee while, easy to use gives good water repelent qualities cleans windows stops brake dust sticking etc. I have seen the results of this product and if it impresses me and merc valleters, merc and subaru lovers in scotland then its good enough for me in my opinion ,and for most owners a car is there to be used not sat in a garage looking well polished. just to add, teflon is not a brittle coating, tell that to DU- PONT I used teflon for 20 years in rallying in the scottish championship , used it in my high performance police training traffic cars at the tulliallan police college, IF its good enough for milltary jet fighters , airliners, tanks, hellycopters , NEED I SAY ANY MORE GEO
darren_bray Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Just spoke to a valeting friend, he says all well and good but with teflon you need a 100% pure and clean surface because any impurities will get bonded along with the teflon plus if you change your mind and wish to use something else it has to be completely taken off otherwise any other kind of wax or polish wont bond to the paint surfaceFor ease of use and protection a good quality wax is just the same, the only reason mine took 5 hours was me taking my time, it's a new car so some surface blemishes needed attending to not to mention very few cars are polished correctly anyway If you believe in your product that much go to detailing world and ask their opinion, it will be just as unbiased as mine is Next wash and polish will be more like 30 minutes to an hour tops Poorboys super suds&wax Meguiars crystal polish Turtle wax top gloss sealant Collinite 915 marque d'elegance wax And scratch x to take off some marring that the machine polisher previously left
cusco kid Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 tell you what m8 you continue detailing and tell your friend why not try some/ my son owns his own valleting company so he knows a little about cleaning cars merc bmw porsche ferrari lambos etc geo/// i forgot to add UNITED STATES USE IT ON SHIPS ot repel salt corrision on aircraft carriers and jets,///// and just to put this to rest there is no bonding agent in this product/////
