Which the Subaru authorised repairer mention is the main cause of the knocking problem. They say the top mounts hole elongates with the stress due to soft metal they use in the manufacturing process.

Who's told you that, I had a set of rears go in 7 months and it had been nowhere near a track!! the rears seize up and then when at traffic lights drop down !! Fitted some MY03 UK STi shocks to it afterwards and no proplems up untill I went for the T25 suspension ie upgraded
