scooby-girl Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Think I need a set of new discs for my 02 bugeye sti ppp (brembo brakes), I've been quoted £700+ including fitting, but was wondering if there are any better discs that would fit for about that price[:S]. My brake pads are new, so I don't want to change them. Many Thanks[] Jen (who doesn't know anything about discs yet!)
z1000 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Why do you need them ? if you have a bit of brake judder then you can maybe get them skimmed for about £30/£40 Had mine done when i fitted new pads and made a huge difference. Not sure what discs are best but sure you can get a set of uprated grooved and drilled with pads, braided lines and 5.1 fluid for less. Pads should always be changed with new discs as the ones you have will have picked up any grooves etc from the ones you have now. Ferrodo DS2500 pads are a great improvement with braided hoses and dot 5.1 fluid. Steve

scooby-girl Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 Hi Steve I get brake judder only when I brake hard. I've been told by a Subaru dealer[8o|] that my discs are badly corroded. I did ask them to check if my disc/s are warped, but they didn't! I've only had the front pads a few months - don't really want to change them all £180 worth! Jen[]
