prodrive tony Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Has anyone installed an uprated fuel reg yet?? Anyone know what pressure should read on gauge?? Thanks.
Deano 666 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 hello tony, you need to set it about 2 bar to start with,
Montythegod Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 When I fitted my FSE regualtor I was recommended to set it at 3.2 Bar for mapping........ I am running 550cc injectors and Walbro 250lph fuel pump and its been mapped to run at that.
Deano 666 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 i didnt know it was for mapping, yes go with what mont said.[8-|]
prodrive tony Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 Thanks Guy's, im not ready for mapping yet though!! Need injectors.
Jolly Green Monster Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 then ideally don't fit it until you are ready. Standard pressure is around 3bar.. so set it to that.. but it will not follow the exact same fuel pressure increase ratio as the original so most likely run rich. With bigger injectors as Monty said 3.2bar~4bar is generally better for attomisation, and obviously flows more fuel. Simon

prodrive tony Posted November 20, 2006 Author Posted November 20, 2006 So guys, does this get fitted just after exit from fuel filter??
Montythegod Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 nope, the existing one needs removing.. on the UK98 its on the left hand fuel rail at the back. Unbolt the 2 retaining boltsfrom the existing regulator, remove the fuel hose, vacuum pipe and pull it out of the fuel rail. You need an adaptor (usually comes as part of a kit) that bolts in its place. Fuel hose is attached to the adaptor that then goes to the fuel regulator. In the kit you get another adaptor to extend the hose that was attached to the existing one, this is extended and goes to the regulator. Remove the old vacuum hose and use a longer piece of pipe to attach to the vacuum input on the new regulator. Basically the new regulator must replace the existing one to work properly. a bit fiddly and about half hour to an hours work, not worth rushing, as it is petrol we're playing with.....
