allan_browne Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Have a newage WRX and got a Turbosmart Vee Port fitted about 2 months ago, it was fine for about a month, nice "Pshhhhhh" coming from it, but lately all that comes from it now is a feeble pfffffft, more like a burble hiss than anything else and sounds really lame, anyone know what might be the problem? I don't know if these things need lubricated on a regular basis or not.? P.S - Forgot to mention, if i turn the "screwing body" there is no difference what so ever in enging revs when running idle, don't know if this is of any relevance or not. Cheers...
diffbuster Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 turbosmart dv is adjustible try turning the screw for different sounds.
diffbuster Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 one other possibility is maf related causing it not to seal, you can see fluctuations on idle.
Chris.Mcd Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Sorry for bringing an old thread back up but ... I have just fitted the same BOV the turbosmart vee port. Fitted it yesterday lunchtime. Everything was fine until was out in the car for a wee drive last night. Now it doesnt make a noise at all. The piston is not moving therefore no noise is created. Took the BOV apart and checked everything but seems to be fine. Anybody got any suggestions ? Cheers Chris
superstar_tradesman Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Have you checked al related hoses are still on properly, on my dump valve there is a small hose that is connected to the end of it, this came off one time and when it did it made no sound.
Chris.Mcd Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Yeah checked the vaccum hose. Seems to be fine, well at the BOV end anyway
