Guest AlanK Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Ok, decided that going to Nobles witha 6yr old Classic (even if it is only 35K) is a waste of time and money. Friend who works in a local garage has offered to book it in but I am not sure as it is no specialist. The specialists I have heard about however all seem to be outwith Edinburgh and although 1 or 2 seem to offer courtesy cars I could do with something a bit more practical. (unless you really really think it is worth it) I also need to replace the bracket that holds the alarm siren onto the car since for the 2nd time it looks ready to snap - any idea if the a specialist will carry this part or know what I am talking about in order to get it in for the service?
Guest greegsy Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Give chris allan at linton service station a call, he really knows his stuff and is very reasonable. He has looked after my car for the past year and has done the timing belt just after i got it and a couple of services too. He used to own a nice classic sti and every time I go there is always a couple of scoobs outside. The garage is on haddington road just outside east linton. His number is 01620 860386 although I think he is closed at weekends. Greegsy
Johnny50 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Second vote for Chris Allan. Always used him, and i know a few others on here have. He is open saturday mornings usually.
frank c Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Have used this garage before but now take it elsewhere
Guest AlanK Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Is there a reason for that Frank? Gonna try Hypertech, Extreme and see if I can find a reason not to go to my own non spesh mechanic..
frank c Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Johnny , howz it going bud.. I let my mate look after my car now. but Bruce did fit the last things i bought Used Chris in the past but wont be taking it back there.. Mostly down to cost and other things Frank
Johnny50 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Have to admit, the last few times i've just used Bruce aswell.. Mainly because of the distance/time involved in getting to Chris at times.
