New Tyres Needed / Pressure

As new classic owner I am loving every minute of driving but cant help wonder about the sate of my wheels and pressures.

It has 17s fitted so fairly low profile and after getting a mark in one of the alloys I have increased the pressure to 34f 32b - is this about normal or a bit hard (my last car was about 27psi all round) - its certainly higher than the plate indicates but I assume this is not applicable since it does not have the original wheels.

Also now noticed that although there is plenty tread the rubber has a fair few small cracks showing.  I cant help think that this is a bad sign but its certainly not bad, just concerning on a very fast car....

Cheers

I kept my pressure at 33F 31R.  I was told by Mike Wood (prodrive) that this is the correct pressures, so that was good enough for me.
