irish al Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Can anyone tell me the basic differences between the wrx and the sti for a 2003 bugeye type. Having taken my wrx up to 292 BHP I am trying to decide if I shoud swap it for an sti or keep upping the power on the wrx.. Option 1 - Swap for sti - This would mean loosing £££ in depreciation and spending more £££ to get an sti, but would i have a better car than the wrx i have just now. It was only 17000 miles and standard when I got it and I know its been looked after and modified correctly. Option 2 - Keep the wrx - spend £££ adding sti bits with the probability of wrx bits brakeing when bhp is increased. Al
RS Grant Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 IMO, if you're wanting over 330bhp... I'd take the hit and go for an STi as it comes with the stronger bottom end and drivetrain. Cheers, Grant
higgy Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 Al Give me a ring and i will tell you all i know. Higgy Ps done alot of reserch and development myself []
fai17 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I would take the hit and get a STI to up the power to near 400. More goodies on a STI to begin with so IMO a better car to start with in the search for more power.
STi_Bandit Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 Al, i traded in my uk300 impreza so i could get my STi and i have to say its night and day between the two there great machines. and ull love the 6 speed box :-) Bandit
Andy UK300 Posted October 21, 2006 Posted October 21, 2006 what will a wrx standard internals take bhp wise?
