hi all,

just looking for a bit of advice I'm getting an apexi power fc fitted and mapped by Andy F next month now I live in glasgow to travel over to Andy i will use maybe just over a quater of a tank maybe less as wont be putting the car in boost - so my question is will I have enough fuel for Andy to work his magic??? ponder2.gif how much fuel do you go through when getting the new ecu fitted and mapped confused.gif

This is my first time going over to see Andy so don't really know how long it takes to fit and map or how long we will be out in the car mapping it confused.gif any advice welcome.

cheers,

You will have enough and there are plenty of optimax stops on the way there. There is one about 200m from andys workshop if my memory serves me correctly.

With a full tank you will have enough fuel to get there, map and get back to Glasgow, no problem.

(Been to Andy twice from Glasgow)

Reckon on about half a tank during mapping. Time it takes to map depends on the car itself, everyones different. Some have issues which need sorting before mapping though some of these faults may not materialise until the mapping is underway.

On average, it'll take maybe a couple of hours for mapping but as i say, some are easier and quicker to map than others.

If you're going over at dinnertime, you'll probably be home by teatime.

At the end of the day it would be better to have a full tank as having to stop the mapping session due to lack of fuel would be a pain and maybe a bit embarising. It would probably be a good idea to run a bottle of injector cleaner through the system to ensure the injectors are in as gooda condition as possible. Just check over the car the day before,ie oil, water, etc as the engine will be given a good work out. Enjoy the results I have seen a number of threads on here about Andy's work.

You wont use that much fuel m8.

There is a garage just around the corner from Andy..

The last Shell garage on route will be Dreghorn on Edinburgh By-pass..
