ok we have been looking at scoobs to upgrade to a turbo but in our hunt we have found a few engines/cars with blown engines and not sure which road to take?

do we put the turbo engine into the sport and upgrade brakes etc etc or buy a turbo with blown engine and put new one in or just say bu**er it and save even harder and buy a perfect one? the list is endless but we fancy a wee project something different and we would then be able to put money into it. let me know ur ideas and if anyone got anything lying around!

Depents of how much you have to spend? and what you want!

You can get a perefectly good standard wrx for about 4-5k well thats wot I would expect to pay for a mint early one, maybe a bit more for an sti, you could get a not so good one for 2-3k but will just need the money spent on it anyway.

Id avoid the the turbo in to the sport idea,  Probaly cost you more than buying a good wrx.

if i had that amount i would gumball, belive me!!! but i couldnt spend all that on a car right now. i have been looking into the fitting of engine and been quoted £700 thats to take old one out and new one in, oh decisions?

Buy a turbo with blown engine and replace engine.

Ditch the idea about upgrading the Sport.

You can change the engine but depending on what you get when you buy engine you still have to upgrade brakes, suspension, anti-roll bars, ecu, ancilleries i.e. map sensor, maf sensor, loom, etc.

It'll still be a sport at the end of the day and insurance won't be clever.

Non starter in my opinion unless you have a car to run around in, in which case you can then build the monster turbo you've always wanted at your leisure. In that case strip the car down to a shell and build it right.
