slo2 Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Been changing my plates and managed to sheer of the bolts so looking to get / borrow a six pointed screw driver thingy with the recess in the middle to allow me to remove part of the grill to get in to re fix the plates. Every time I do any thing to the car I break a bit or just dont have enough / correct tools. Do Halfords stock such an item or does any one have one I can borrow for a few mins.Cheers
G.Mac Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Think Halfrauds do sell these things, or you could just get no plate tape and stick them on and you would have no need for screws Graeme
slo2 Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 Its just for the front not much to tape a plate too.( already removed the old plate). How illegal are numbers on the bonnet ?
fai17 Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Its just for the front not much to tape a plate too.( already removed the old plate). How illegal are numbers on the bonnet ? I've stuck my front plate to the bumper without probs....just use plenty of tape tho[]

AlanG Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 I don't get it. [] Why do you need to remove the grill for a number plate? If it's the plastic screws, why not drill them out and if it's metal screws drill a hole in the centre of the screw and use easi-outs?
slo2 Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 Sheared of the bolts. So pushed out the retaining clips then tried to fit plastic bolts. Could n't get my hand in so just removed the upper grill. Still couldn't get the nut on . So if I could remove 2 torx nuts then i can get my hand far enough. I know I make the easy jobs difficult but I always break something when I work on my car.
