lock stock Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Does anyone know any details of where & what times the stages will be run on Saturday? Cheers Rob...
kloon Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Here you go sir: SPECIAL STAGE 1 (from 9am) Caledonia Hydraulics Whitehaugh - A five-mile blast around Whitehaugh Forest in the Correen Hills near Alford. It is a long established stage on the Granite, but has not been used since 2000, and will be a fitting start to this year's event. There are no areas suitable for spectator car parks on this stage. SS2 (from 9.45am) Station Garage Clashindarroch - Clashindarroch has not been used on the Granite since 2000. This year's return brings an 8-mile section in the southern end of the forest. SS3 (from 11am) Rio Prestige Performance Tornasheen - Tornasheen has not been used on the rally since 1989, so its inclusion this year will be the first time most of the competitors will have seen this fast and furious stage. Car park A can be reached from the A944, past Glenkindie, and will be signposted. SS4 (from 1.30pm) Diagnostic Technologies Blackhall - The stage runs at the East end of the Blackhall forest in the shadow of Scolty Hill near Banchory. The only access to the stage is from Car park B at the Scolty Hill end of the stage. SS5 (from 2.15pm) Yellow Dot Glenfarquhar - The only accessible vantage point on this stage is via a small public forestry car park in Drumtochty Glen. The stage can be accessed from the glen by following the marked road. SS6 (from 3pm) Power Jacks Fetteresso - An 11-mile stage using most of Fetteresso Forest. It incorporates very fast flowing roads in the first half leading into more twisty, technical areas in the back half. There are two car parks, C and D, at Hill of Hobseat, near the start of the stage, and Hill of Swanley at the end.

aberscoob Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Took a wee trip to the Thistle and took a few pics- Excuse the quality Cheers, Steve.
TypeRA28 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Which is the most family friendly stage? Want to take my daughter (who is almost 4-she is so into cars, and is always pointing out scoobs to us), but don't want to put her in any danger? The Granite City Rally site seems to be down, so can't even find out what time the cars are leaving the Castlegate? Can anyone advise.
aberscoob Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 The rally starts at 8am Sat at the Castlegate. They then head up Union street as they leave. Not sure which one would be the best for young children as i think there is a fair walk to most of the stages. I usually go to Fetteresso as there is plenty of parking there! Finishes at Thistle Hotel at 4pm Hope this helps Steve.
